Apparently, during a routine ODOT inspection, crews noticed a potentially "critical issue" with a bridge along the northbound stretch of the Jennings Freeway (SR 176), which necessitated an immediate closure if the northbound lanes from I-480 to the I-71/90/490 interchange.

ODOT has not issued specifics, but it sounds like it's on the original 1960's stretch between Denison Ave and I-71.  The only thing they said is that the road may be closed until "mid-June", or about a month.  Apparently, some FB posts said they were forcing people off the prior exits before they could even get signs and barricades installed, leaving many motorists not knowing where to go for the detour.

The southbound Jennings Freeway is unaffected for the moment.

So ODOT hasn't described what the issue is. Taking a look at GSV, the bridge in question doesn't appear to be that old and in fairly good shape, so I'm curious as to what they found.
