Quote from: epzik8 on June 25, 2026, 06:54:54 PMLol Noah has now said he would have thrown a punch at Magnussen if his crew member hadn't talked him out of it, more or less saying it would ruin Noah's career and reputation.

It would've have been the most interesting thing he's done since moving to Cup.  He's been pretty awful since moving up from the Xfinity series.

I hear this summer has been one of the worst seasons ever for severe weather in Illinois, so here's hoping things can get better for you guys.

The O'Reilly race had the same problem with fog (once it got going).

For anybody who had trouble seeing last night, there are dozens of other tracks that look exactly the same.

Why is Atlanta the only intermediate track -- actually, the only track that isn't Daytona or Talladega --  that has an out-of-bounds area below the double yellow line? Why not Charlotte or Michigan? Why just Atlanta?

I'm certainly no Bubba Wallace fan, but I don't understand why he was penalized at Atlanta for a move that would have been perfectly legal at Chicagoland.

They added banking to the track in 2022 and the increased speed that brought now makes the track subject to the same rules/conditions of the plate tracks.

The cars have tapered spacers instead  of restrictor plates.

Looks like the same morons who scheduled Atlanta for a Sunday night starting time have struck again this weekend at North Wilkesboro.

The last thing I remember about Sunday night's race was Bubba being spun out under caution at the end of Stage 2.

Why has NASCAR abandoned its Saturday night green flags in favor of Sunday nights?

I was at the last points paying race in North Wilkesboro in 1996:

I guess Joey Logano isn't quite over the hill yet.  Also, outside of something drastic happening it looks like SVG is going to make a Chase the legit way.

That race at North Wilkesboro last night was surreal. Really felt like I was watching something from the 90s. Great stuff.

The lack of low-end range torque in those engines would probably surprise many.

It probably is time to just bring Corey Heim up to Cup for the rest of the season.  He's running way too well after winning two races at two wildly different tracks to be part time.

I doubt they can get funding together to make a change that late. He is slated to run full time next season.

But he drives the 6-7 car. Surely they can find sponsorship tied to that. Or has the meme run its course?

Most economic way they could do this is to have Heim and Riley Herbst swap schedules, since Heim is replacing him next season anyway. In theory there would be no capital or sponsorship costs.

Strange weekend for NASCAR to be off. You'd think they'd do better having an off weekend after the NFL starts.

Yes. Actually NASCAR should never take weeks off.

But this has to be the worst week of sports.  What do we have on a Sunday afternoon.

NBC showed women's golf, then swimming.
ABC showed WNBA, the time-buy lacrosse.
Fox showed pick-up basketball, then gave the time back to the local stations for infomercials.
CBS showed a different pick-up basketball, then a very star-free PGA stop.

ESPN had an exhibition soccer game, and then hype for 'raslin.
ESPNU showed reruns.
ESPNews showed its package of "ESPN8 the Ocho" stupidity.
ESPN2 showed little league softball.

Today will probably be the day that more people watch their local baseball team on their local baseball outlet than any other.  Unfortunately, we never get those ratings, although when you do the math...

Actually, it worked out OK when NASCAR took off Easter weekend and Mother's Day weekend.

My state was glued to the TV for that basketball game on Fox. It didn't end the way we hoped, but as it turns out, Davis Steel is an actual company located in Russell Springs, Ky.
