When I try to use the Search Engine I get a 502 Bad Gateway notice. Has anyone had this issue, has anyone tried to fix it?

This is a known issue. It means that your search returned so many results that the server is taking too long to compile them. Narrowing the search (e.g. by restricting it to only one board rather than the whole forum) can help.

That used to be what I would advise too, but Google's gone far enough downhill I don't feel comfortable recommending it anymore. If you do decide to go that route, note that it can't access (or it's not supposed to be able to, anyway) the boards that aren't visible to logged-out users.

I used a combination of site search and Google search.  Typically, I'll use the site search if I know who it was that made the post, so I can limit the search to that username.  But I also can never remember which boards are hidden to outsiders.
