Millerton Lake near Fresno should be renamed as Miller High Life Lake.  I think this is needed.

If the Strait of Hormuz keeps being as open as it is right now, we'll probably get to $2 a liter.

Interestingly, there are at least two federal statutes that use the name "Lake Ontario"—33 USC 426l (that's a lowercase "L" on the end) and 33 USC 426o-1.

(Why the weird section numbers? Same reason the New York Thruway has that weird sequence of numbers in the Exit 21–22 area south of Albany. The sections got numbered sequentially and then they needed to add further sections between existing numbers.)

The best thing I've heard out of all of this is his next Executive Order will be to rename the San Andreas Fault to Joe Biden's Fault.

The Gulf of Mexico thing made me think of the movie "Coming to America."  An African prince, played by Eddie Murphy, goes to New York City, pretending to be a common African student.  When asked what college he attended, he answered "the University of the United States."  It's what happens when someone pretends to understand this country when they actually don't.

Somehow I don't think Trump would pretend to be a goat herder.

Heh. The Eddie Murphy movie that was on my mind this week was The Distinguished Gentleman, which I thought of because of the Senate race in Alaska in which two candidates are named Dan Sullivan. For those who haven't seen the movie, Eddie Murphy's character (a black man, obviously) is named Thomas Jefferson Johnson. He goes by "Jeff." His congressman (a white man) is named Jefferson Davis Johnson. He also goes by "Jeff." Congressman Johnson dies. Eddie Murphy's character then runs for his seat, using the slogan "Jeff Johnson—the name you know!"

Considering days of the week are already named after gods, that's not a big step

The names of the days all come from Old English, so I'd expect more that a month would be renamed.

It's a mixture for days of the week
I don't think Thor (thurs-day) or Odin (Woden for Wedn-sday) are native old English.
Sun, Moon, and Saturn days are probably Roman inheritance.

Old English þunresdæg (Þunre = Thor) → Middle English Thuresdai → Modern English Thursday

Old English wodnesdæg (Woden = Mercury, sort of) → Middle English Wednes-dai → Modern English Wednesday

Yes, but at least those 5 have also arrows pointing to old English from Scandinavian, Roman, or German roots.
In contrast with Freya, I believe, being of a true English origin.
