South Texas: SH 365, SH 68 and International Bridge Trade Corridor

This month's eminent domain listing includes many parcels for SH 68.

What's new is that there is substantial right-of-way acquisition south of Interstate 2. The eminent domain documents describe the project as SH 68 "from 365 Tollway to IH 2". However, according to the SH 68 project documents, SH 68 starts at I-2 and goes north. I don't know if the segment south of I-2 is being designated as SH 68, or if this is just a convenient descriptive term. The Hidalgo County RMA map identifies this section as IBTC.
 
Most acquisition is in the area of Dicker Road, South Alamo Road and South Tower Road. Fourteen parcels are listed with an area of 122.5 acres.

According to the HCRMA annual report (page 10), ownership of this project was transferred from HCRMA to TxDOT, and this will be a non-tolled freeway.
