A Caltrans worker suffered major injuries Wednesday morning when a steel beam fell on the 405 Freeway in Seal Beach, prompting an hourslong closure of the interstate in both directions, authorities said. All lanes were reopened as of 7:30 a.m. The incident occurred about 2:45 a.m. at a construction site at the 605 Freeway interchange.
