So far at least a lot of the BGS on MA 57 have been replaced between the Agawam Rotary and MA 187. There are a few older overhead signs that still remain as of now.  It seems like the fonts are a little smaller on the newer signs too.

One thing I noticed that is different is the signing of MA 159 exit.  Previously only south of MA 57 was MA 159 signed, especially on the BGS (there is a split north and south exit here) where the Northbound exit listed only as Main St.  My understanding was that MA 159 ended at MA 57.  Is MA 159 being extended now up to the intersection of MA 147 and MA 75 or is this a mistake or has MA 159 always quietly existed along this stretch of Main St?

Per this, http://www.massdot.state.ma.us/Portals/17/docs/MapCatalog/Maps/JurisdictionMilePt-District2.pdf, it ends at MA 75/147 a mile north of MA 57.

I was under the same impression as DrSmith. I wonder if this was a relatively recent change.

It's been signed at the 75/147 junction at least since late last year (my first time along 75).

this sign still there?

I think all such lettering has disappeared.

Sign STILL there as I drove by it today.

I did see DOT hanging up new BGS signs, crane and all, on the rotary.  So I suspect the older ones around here are going to disappear soon.  Not sure about the pictured one.  I can see them taking it down but I can see them overlooking it too. Notice the Big E sign arrow now faces to the left.
