urgh, turns out I misread HB's post - when he said "60 is OK", he meant "60 is all right, passable, and generally within society's norms", as opposed to "60 is in Oklahoma".  That's a Kentucky 144.

apparently.

now, anyone have a proper, unambiguous Kentucky 144?  Or an unambiguous Kentucky of another number we haven't used yet, in conjunction with a wild card 144 from outside the 50 states?

damn circle shields.  :ded:

can someone find us a real OK 144?  (a photo has gotta be out there somewhere)  I don't think anyone but HB Elkins knows if 144 and 60 intersect in Kentucky!  :-D

I could go take a picture of OK 144 as I'm only about an hour from it right now, but I couldn't be bothered.  Also it's too hot and my A/C is broken.  I'd do it for money though.  How much do you have?

Scott5114

It doesn't matter, though, since someone posted my OK 145 photo :P

I think the rule should be that you have to take the picture yourself to post it, unless it's a historical Summa picture or something like that.  I'd be a little ticked if somebody posted my pictures without asking me first.

The only other KY 144 photos I have are with other circle shields, plus a couple of others with US 60 in them, but there's one with a four-digit ellipse and AFAIK Kentucky is the only state that signs four-digit routes in the ellipses.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

that one, please!  as far as I know, you're right about Kentucky being the only state that does that.

Are we going to try to do 151-200 after we hit 150?  Or are we going to go back to 1?

rickmastfan67

Alright, since what I've read is that we're out of routes for ND and AK (but not WV which can only use 150), I'm going to call the unresolvable hardship clause.

Here's Ontario King's Highway 148 in place for AK.

I'm sure Jake will clarify, but aren't these supposed to be raw photos from the wild and not from Streetview?

agentsteel53

I've noticed we've had a few streetview photos - while I'm not a huge fan of it, it is allowing the game to proceed, so I will allow them.  That said, I encourage real photos from actual roadgeeks!

as for 151-200; how tough will that be?  I note the game is getting tougher and tougher... anyone with solid knowledge of state route numbering want to give me an idea which states are going to be hosing us next round?

Given that a lot of 3dus start with 1's, this shouldn't be too bad a stretch of numbers.

At the US/Interstate/state hwy level out west:

AK still a no-go;
ND has only 2 in the 151-200 range;
MT has 2 state routes (unfortunately sharing one of these with ND, MSR 200), and 1 US;
OR has quite a few unsigned routes in this range, but also US 197/199; should be o.k.;
ID has only 2 state hwys (one is again MSR 200), but also 2 US and an interstate;
WA, CA, AZ, NM, WY, NV all look pretty good

Can't say much about county routes.

agentsteel53

I'm surprised we haven't used county routes more.  There's gotta be someone out there obsessively photographing them!  :-D

looks like 151-200 is a go!

we just need a proper 144 from HB Elkins (in conjunction with a four-digit oval) and 149 from somewhere not in the 50 states, and WV 150.

excellent 149!  Now does anyone have a WV 150?  I do not.

Vermont will be limited to 155, 189, or 191 for this round.  Mississippi's limited to 161, 172, 182, 184, or 198.  Minnesota and Virginia shouldn't be a problem.

You forgot to tell him that he didn't mention the state he was calling a hardship for. :P

Since I-71 and US 42 only run in two states, and Ohio doesn't use circle shields...
