A recent discovery of a 1951 film from the New York State Archives regarding the Thruway and Binghamton has led to this Sure, Why Not? blog post.  It's chock full of interesting things to see, such as old signs, old bridges, and 1950s forward thinking.

Upon checking out the New York State Archives' account on YouTube, I noticed a film regarding the construction and opening of the Tappan Zee Bridge, along with a film regarding relocation of the Erie Canal to make way for the New York Thruway in Herkimer.  The NYS Archives is currently digitizing some films, so there may be more gems in the future.
