Hey Guys,

Button copy here in DFW is almost unheard of these days but here are some shots ive taken of the last few remaining. Some of the pictures are not that great but I plan on going out in the next week or so to get some better shots and some pics of signs Ive missed.

Arlington, Tx on the frontage road of SH360

Arlington, Tx northbound ramp

Northbound SH360 Arlington, Tx
This signs seen better days...

SH360 frontage Rd

SH360 Frontage Rd

Old non reflective sign

This sign is off of SH 114 in Grapevine, Tx

These next set of photos are off of IH-30 close to Fort Worth and Arlington

Not a very good shot but i wanted to use the flash.

A couple of signs along IH-30 east bound

Thats all I got for now. There is a few more out there including one in Dallas I found just last night. More to come!

Very nice, thanks for sharing!  Apparently Texas' double arrows were just two single arrows stuck together!  Never seen that before.

Yes, and the taper makes them look a little awkward, in my opinion.

Florida's double arrows underneath routes had the same notched look in the middle, too.  Examples on www.alpsroads.net/roads/fl/cr_18 among many of my pages.

There were some button copy overheads on eastbound SH 114/Northbound SH 121 in Grapevine. They were recently removed due to the construction project in the area.

I remember those actually. they took those down about 2 or 3 years ago. Do you remember if the sign lights still came on at night up until their removal?

The ones i'm talking about were mounted on an overpass (Main St, I think.), and came down within the last year. Probably during the summer. I have no idea about the lighting.

Side note: Spur 103 was decommissioned in 2006, but it's signs remain on the BGS's

Even more awkward is the reflector at the end of each shaft. By day, it just looks like a slightly wonky double-ended arrow if you're not paying attention, but by night you can easily tell that it's just two arrows stuck together.

I wonder why they didn't just do it the way Kansas does and put arrows on either side of the road name, like "<- Trinity Blvd ->"? That way looks a lot better if all you have are two single-ended arrows, IMO.
