Nope.

Article 4 — The treaty does not recognize, dispute, nor establish territorial sovereignty claims; no new claims shall be asserted while the treaty is in force;

The USA would be breaking the treaty if it makes a claim but the pre-existing claims of Norway, Chile, Argentina, UK, France, Australia and New Zealand aren't recognized or established, but also not disputed, by the treaty...

The US and USSR, along with Japan, Belgium, South Africa and the 7 claimants were the 12 countries the UN needed to sign and all did.
Given that the territories overlap and that no country has ever tried to assert its sovereignty there or used the claims as anything other than bragging rights, I would say it's questionable whether those claims affect anything.

Interstate 1 could be a path between two Antarctic research tents. If Texas or Illinois doesn't snatch it up first.

Boy, MNDOT must've chucked that one out when they saw that blunder. The 69 does NOT help either...

While Cook CR 69 does exist, I suspect this sign was custom-made and not the result of a blunder or mistake.  The way Minnesota signs are finished, the only way this could've happen was deliberately.

Since we had three threads on the front page of General Highway Talk about various eBay items, I thought we could merge them into a general eBay item thread. Please keep this limited to unusual or funny listings, and not just promoting your own offerings (those go to the Signs for Sale or Trade sticky)!

Here's a NJ Turnpike neon sign for sale for only $2,000, which seems like a steal, but you have to pick it up from the seller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Neon-Sign-from-the-New-Jersey-Turnpike-/251616706040?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a95863df8

Not sure what the shipping would be, but i suspect you might have to ask for a loan to pay UPS charges on THAT one!

You get the feeling this guy hasn't a clue about what he's selling?

Relisted 3 times, never sold. Even at $149.99

For it's condition, rather overpriced.....

If i were that seller, i would re-list it once more with a much more reasonable starting bid (say $29.99), and see what it's true value is....

Sorry for bumping up this thread but I felt like this would add to this topic.

I did confirm the location of this sign in the Wild was indeed in Springfield, MO on Kansas Expressway (MO-13) Southbound 6-- feet from chestnut. I took photos of this sign back then when it was still in the wild. I was able to verify it with the missing reflector it had in the wild along with the measurements of the number and the MHTD lettering on the sign.

Still south of Sawblade (Kansas) Route 5, but a little further South now!
