When I took my day trip through New Brunswick back in April, I got several new highways (and a new Canadian province) there, including NB 1, 7, 8, 95, TCH 2, and tiny bits of 3, 100, 170, 176, 550, and 778. In the same trip, I got to see the very beginning of I-95 for the first time, plus the east end of US 2 and the old border crossing. It was also the first time I've crossed into another time zone by car.

Other than that, back during my Spring Break in early March, I was down in Baltimore for one day and met up with Mike and Laura and traveled several roads around there that I hadn't previously been on. Those included I-795, MD 702 (both clinched), I-83 inside the Beltway, and MD 140. I was also finally able to get the rest of the Beltway (I-695) that I hadn't finished yet.

Should probably wait to post until after my upcoming trip to Panama City FL, but my most recent new Interstate driven on would have to be I-465 from my trip to Champaign, IL in November. My most recent US Route would probably be US-35 from the same trip. My most recent state route added would be VA-249, from a trip to Richmond I took in January.

Interstate:  I-190 MA back in February.
U.S.:  it's been years since I've been on a "new" U.S. route for the first time.  I'd have to go back to US 48 in 2008, or US 73 and US 141 in 2007.
State:  NH 117 a couple weeks ago.

Last month I clinched parts of WA-104, WA-900, WA-169, WA-516, WA-520 mostly by bus. The last one was the highest-priority one to clinch, being one of the most important freeways in Seattle and only avoided because of its toll (negated because of the bus).

State highway is easy: I traveled NY 165 for the first time (and clinched it - not hard) a couple weeks ago.

US highway: US 201 last August.  It's possible I traveled it long ago, but I am not sure.  So I'll count it.  Runner up is US 411, first done last summer as well.

Interstate: I picked up several 3di last year, the last of them being I-395 Maine (which I also clinched).

2di: I think I have to go all the way back to 2010, when I first drove part of I-73.  However, I drove what is now part of I-22 as future I-22 in 2012, and part of what is now I-41 as US 41 in 2013.  Other than those, the only current 2di I'm missing are I-2 and I-86 (western), so I'm not looking likely to get any new ones soon.  The I-69's are an odd case here.  If I consider them all to be part of I-69, then I'm good having clinched the segment north of Indianapolis.  If they're separate routes, I need most of the newer pieces.
Photos I post are my own unless otherwise noted.

Interstate: I-790 (courtesy of the Utica meet)
US Route: US 11 (courtesy of the Scranton and Utica meets)
State Route: NJ 81 (on the bus last weekend for one exit)
County Route: Suffolk CR 36 on Long Island

Business US 62. 11:15 AM today. Driving back to the intersection I was counting after making a quick trip to Canada to buy candy during my break. US 62 is waaaaaay faster, even though it's just a block south. Use the BR only for the clinch unless you're doing something on it.

I'll be hitting up (and clinching) NY 61 tomorrow during my break. Would have been on it today, but I decided to clinch the rest of NY 31 instead.

Since September 2014:

  • I-70 - from the I-470 interchange in Belmont County, Ohip to I-15 in Millard County, Utah;
  • South end of N.J. 444 (GSP) - from the Atlantic City Expressway to its southern terminus at Cape May;
  • U.S. 40 in New Jersey - from Atlantic City to the junction with I-295 on the east side of the Delaware Memorial Bridge;
  • I-90 (New York State Thruway) - between I-87 and I-81;
  • I-81 - between I-90 and N.Y. 17 at Binghamton;
  • U.S. 48 (ADHS Corridor H) - between W.Va. 93/W.Va. 42 at Bismarck and its current western terminus (of the eastern section) near the Grant County/Tucker County border (because brand-new highway recently opened to traffic); and
  • U.S. 33 - between W.Va. 32 (Harman) and U.S. 219 (Elkins), including the "racetrack" section of U.S. 33 east of Elkins (that was once intended to be Corridor H, but won't be).

Alright, NY 61 today. Clinched as well. Strangest thing- all but the southernmost 2 blocks are state-maintained.  Maybe 500 feet of city maintenance between NY 384 and the start of state maintenance. This GSV is where state maintenance ends and the light is the southern terminus.

Interstate: I-865 last summer after taking the long way around Indianapolis from Louisville to Chicago
US: Most likely something last summer in my trip to North Carolina. I think it's 70 in Greensboro.
State: IL 94 over this past Christmas holiday.
Davenport, IA -> Valparaiso, IN -> Ames, IA -> Orlando, FL -> Gainesville, FL -> Evansville, IN

Considering how many counties I've been to, the most recent US Route that I had been on for the first time was probably US 98 in Florida two years ago. I don't believe I was on it prior to then.

This pretty easy for me, since I visited SoCal last fall for the first time in almost 50 years.

CA-1, on the part between LAX and Malibu. I may have been on part near LAX during my last visit, but only as a passenger. I was too young to drive. Was it even called CA-1 back then? There is a near-tie here with several other California routes, like CA-2 (Santa Monica Blvd.), though nobody seems to call them by their route numbers.

I almost said US-101, but I drove the part near Olympic National Park years ago. Are there any other US routes in the LA area, since 66 was decommissioned?

I-210: this was probably the last of several interstates that I was on for the first time during this trip. We went to Burbank and Pasadena.
US 395 is the next closest to so cal

Highway63

If we're talking new segments, US 14 in most of southern Minnesota and US 61 in Wisconsin (nearly all new), yesterday and the day before.

If we're talking new numbers, the last new interstate was I-49 in Missouri although I had driven most of it as US 71 before, preceded by I-275/696 around Detroit in fall 2013. My last new US route number was US 223 zero-to-clinch on the day after those interstates.

SR 243, 24, 240 (WA) just last Thursday (Waze directed me this direction on the way to the TriCities... only to be stuck behind 3 semi's doing 60 in a 65 around Hanford.

US 395, my first jaunt on this roadway, when not attached to I-90 or I-82 was in March... again through the TriCities, WA.

OR 213 - In March, my first drive up 82nd Ave in Portland.  I'd crossed it many times, but this was the first time driving down it.
They said take a left at the fork in the road.  I didn't think they literally meant a fork, until plain as day, there was a fork sticking out of the road at a junction.

I need to amend my earlier post by changing the most recent Interstate traveled for the first time to I-495 (NC) which I did yesterday. The wife and I went up to Crabtree Mall up in Raleigh and on the way back home I spotted the BGS with I-495/US-264 on it and decided to jump off I-440 there instead of coming back via my usual US-70 route.

Had a bunch of semi-recent ones (none this year yet since I haven't done my annual road trip yet).

Interstates: Got to drive I-91, 84 and 384 on a trip to Hartford last year (and 287 and 87 for the first time as a driver). Prior to that 81, 40, 65, 20, 59, 10, 85, 75, and 16 all in one the same road trip to New Orleans and a few other Southern cities.

US Routes: 113 and 50 last year. Finally realized it's a quicker ride to Ocean City, MD instead of taking DE1 all the way through. Also got US 90 on the New Orleans trip.

State Routes: Covered parts of the entire PA113 family earlier this year traipsing around southern Bucks County and on that trip to Hartford I also got to drive the Merritt Pkwy (CT15) for the first time as a driver.
