When I was growing up in the 2 or 3 years leading up to 1976, there was so much hype about the nation's Bicentennial.  TV shows and specials were being created, signs going up (at least in Ohio) designating "Bicentennial Communities" at their city limits, and so on.

Fast forward to today, and little over 7 months away from our country's 250th Birthday (another significant milestone IMHO), and I have heard little to no information on plans for an extended celebration like they did in 1976.

The fact that Google search defaults to dark mode in incognito window on Chrome (yeah, I'm one of those people who does all searches in incognito because I don't like saved history/customized results).  I don't like the "dark mode for everything" trend that's all the rage these days (not to mention that it being too dark too everywhere for my tastes is one of my annoyances with Chrome).  Sure, there's a setting to change it, but since this involves incognito windows, that doesn't matter since the cookie the setting change is stored in won't be returned the next day.

Also, the universe seems to have a hard-on for people calling me at my end of the day bathroom stop, because it happened again yesterday.  Maybe I need to start carrying my phone with me into the bathroom.

I think that type of patriotism would be seen as hokey now.

That call will be short.

There was one time when our pastor had his wireless mike live when he went into the bathroom ...

Same here.  And we musicians all had in-ear monitors.

That's probably due to the fact that over the last fifty years, due to the Internet making it easy to talk to people who live in other countries, a lot of the inhabitants of the United States have come to the realization that it kind of sucks.

Out of curiosity...do you wear glasses? I've done informal polling among my friends regarding light/dark mode preference and there is a correlation between people who wear glasses preferring dark mode and those without preferring light mode.

In any event, you are apt to hate Button Copy 2.0 whenever I get around to finishing it. Sorry in advance.

I don't know who's calling you, but I really really don't want my conversation with anyone to have bathroom sounds in the background.
