Embossed Sign Blades

Does anyone else enjoy these kinds of blade signs?  My town, Newton, NJ, has mostly phased out all theirs' with new metal printed blade signs, unfortunately.  The only other place in NJ I know that does this is Allenhurst (near Asbury Park).  Does your town use/used to use these type of blade signs?  Let me hear it!

Funny, I was just in Newton today checking out the old white signs on Spring St. (former 206).  I still see the embossed signs everywhere but they'll be goners with the new MUTCD requirements.  Livingston just got rid of all of its embossed signs (as far as I can tell, they did a 100% job), and I have several hanging up around my room.  KSDOT long ago used embossed street-sign style distance signs (like "WICHITA <- 16") and you can find those on E-Bay.

I've never seen them in Oklahoma. If there ever were any, they've been long phased out by now.

On the other hand, Waukesha, Wisconsin, which I just visited this weekend, has a ton of them.
