Photos 9 and 17 have identical captions...
Wait, it's all Ohio? Always has been.

He says of #6:

QuoteCloverleaf interchanges are very common... I choose this one because of its near perfect symmetry and green surroundings.

Even including the criteria of "near perfect symmetry"  and "green surroundings" , there are hundreds of examples across the world. And this one with pockmarked concrete, half-done resurfacing project, and cell tower with access road is the best he could find?

Biased, I know, but the Fremont Stack, the Ross Island Maze or the I-5/I-90 interchange would have been worthy entries :(

I kind of wish that the photographer had chosen some simpler interchanges. Some of my favorites:

I like how the slant of OK-30 doesn't seem to affect the design of this interchange here with I-40.

And here, I like the almost perfect circle of the ramp from NV-573 to I-15.

I-290   I-294   I-55   (I-74)   (I-72)   I-40   I-30   US-59   US-190   TX-30   TX-6

QuoteI get asked a lot if the sand really is that color or if it's Photoshopped. It's real.

First of all, that's not sand, it's decorative gravel.
second of all, the soil of the Sonoran desert is mostly something that I would not consider to be sand anyway(close, but not quite), and it is not that color.

And the desert was gone from there long before that interchange was built.

Come ride with me to the distant shore...

I like the love the article is showing for the Circle Interchange...

QuoteJane Byrne Interchange, Chicago, 2012 – This is another one of my favorites. I love how they built it right in the middle of the city just west of the core. I originally intended to shoot this image at sunset but there was traffic on the tarmac when we were getting ready to take off, so I had to shoot it after dark. It sort of turned into a happy accident.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

That was really enjoyable! Thanks for providing the link.

And it's nice to see it from a different angle than usual.

The I-787 interchange in Albany is seriously cool, and I'm glad that it made this list. I just wish one of the New Jersey Turnpike interchanges near Newark Airport made it.  :bigass:
Life would be boring if we didn't take an offramp every once in a while

I believe that Albany interchange got its own Freewayjim video.

Good ones from the L.A. area. The I-10/I-405 interchange was always my favorite in the area.

I'd rather be a child of the road than a son of a ditch.

At what age do you tell a highway that it's been adopted?
