Little Tujunga Canyon Road

Usually, I would wait to post a road like this until I wrote about it on my page, but I found Little Tujunga Canyon Road to be a lot of fun departing Los Angeles yesterday.  I'm to understand this road was built in the late 1920s.  The main advantage I've found is that most people avoid Little Tujunga in favor of Angeles Crest Highway (CA 2) and Angeles Crest Highway (County Route N3).  I found Little Tujunga to be a more engaging drive than Big Tujunga.  Here are the photo highlights from the drive:

Interestingly there are two wooden truss spans on Little Tujunga Canyon Road.  This one was built in 1928 and is located on the Los Angeles side of the highway:

The ride from the Bear Divide out to the fire department is nice too. And Sand Canyon Rd down the north side has this rare sign (which has been posted before in other threads):

Apparently that sign is there because motorcyclists kept dumping their bikes when the wash was running and/or had just dried out. 

Santa Clara Truck Trail is on my list for this winter.  It doesn't look like the road is open past the Nike Missile site, but it probably is worth trying when I have access to the Forester.
