News:

The server restarts at 2 AM and 6 PM Eastern Time daily. This results in a short period of downtime, so if you get a 502 error at those times, that is why.

Widening of the Mountain Parkway in eastern Kentucky

The state received a $116.3 million federal grant to help with the 13-mile final segment of the parkway extension. More info on the project's website.

It hasn't been brought up in the past 2 years, but it was announced in September 2022 that the extension east of Salyersville will be on new alignment from just east of where US 460 splits off to just west of KY 404, then following existing KY 114 the rest of the way to US 23.

That section from KY 404 to US 23 was widened all the way back in the late 1990s as the first part of the overall project. The second section built was between exits 43 and 46 in Wolfe County, which was a design-build project that got started in 2007.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.
