The days are getting shorter and colder, the year is almost over, guess it's time to post the "Who is working Thanksgiving Day?" thread again. Unless you are Canadian who now lives in the United States, in which case, it's second Thanksgiving. Lets see here, we have the following previous threads:

The original thread was created over a decade ago because people were complaining that "the retailers were open and making the retail workers WORK", not realizing that other people were also earning a paycheck during the United States Thanksgiving holiday. Plus, we have the following sports (All Times Eastern):

  • 1:00 PM - NFL on FOX: Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions
  • 4:30 PM - NFL on CBS: Kansas City Chiefs at Dallas Cowboys
  • 7:30 PM - College Football on ESPN: Navy Midshipmen at Memphis Tigers
  • 8:20 PM - NFL on NBC: Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens
  • Friday @ 3:00 PM - NFL on Amazon: Chicago Bears at Philadelphia
  • Five Men's College basketball games and five Women's College basketball games
  • No NBA or NHL Games on Thursday, November 28th

NOTE: The Detroit Lions host the Dallas Cowboys the following Thursday. Los Angeles Chargers host the Philadelphia Eagles on the following Monday.

I'll be off as my office will be closed. I'll probably play around in the kitchen and watch the games. The first two should be excellent dinner sides, while the BAL/CIN nightcap can go the way of your aunt's shitty marshmallow jello dessert.

Not working Thanksgiving or Christmas or the days after.  Working all other days around the holidays.

That said, hope the shutdown ends so air travel can get back on track.

Two juicy men's college basketball games on Thanksgiving too:

3:30: North Carolina/Michigan State
7 PM: Arkansas/Duke

That was last year's Thanksgiving night NFL game. The Packers don't play twice in one day.

Like since 2022, some workmates have Thanksgiving off, but me for obvious reasons not as it's just a regular day over here.

I work "in" the UK, so it's a workday for me...but I'll be taking the weekend off to attend a wedding (and address a disturbing drought of new counties in my collection).

I have off both Thanksgiving and the day after.

This year, because Christmas is a Thursday they already announced we will have that Friday off as well.

Unemployed, so for the first Thanksgiving in decades, I will have the entire weekend off.

Not working on the day of. Will be bartending on Black Friday.

I'm back in retail again, and our store is closed for Thanksgiving, thus I will have the day off. The holiday falls on the same week in my schedule rotation where I'd have Saturday and Sunday off, so I assume that I'll be scheduled one of those day. Ditto the following month with Christmas.
