You could always take NJ Transit and pay >$100 ticket prices for it

Per this article, paying the toll at 18W and passing through the 19W gantry within 20 minutes on the same tag will result in the flat toll at 19W being removed from your account. Who knows how well that will work, though.

Further, NJTA has erected numerous signs telling EZPass users to continue north to use 19W instead of 16W, and that only cash users should use 16W. They're really trying to shunt as much traffic as they can to 19W.

The NJ Turnpike has released renderings of modifications to Interchanges 3 and 4.

Interchange 3's changes involve the connection with NJ 168.  The preliminary changes will eliminate the direct ramp from the toll plaza to 168 North, and instead replace it with a longer, 2 lane roadway that connects into the intersection of 168 and Benigno Blvd. 2 hotels just off the Turnpike will be taken to accomplish this.

Interchange 4's changes will be a 2 lane ramp from the toll plaza to the Turnpike Northbound, and a 2 lane ramp from the Turnpike Southbound to the toll plaza.

The current timeline for construction appears to be starting in 2027.  Some documents the Turnpike has online says 2026, but their schedule slide graphic now indicates 2027.

This is one of the temporary signs that NJTA put up in East Rutherford regarding World Cup traffic patterns:

From the land of red, white, yellow and black.

There are long term plans to eliminate cash tolling, but the NJTA doesn't seem to be in any hurry to get there.

Certainly not I mean how many millions are they spending to build this toll plaza?

They even made an "E-ZPass only" ramp on the Parkway not too long ago.  The Parkway doesn't have a ticket system, just barrier and ramp tolls - it should have been "E-ZPass or bill by plate".

That's really shocking. I still have not been to New York or the northeast for that matter so I wonder how much of a culture shock I'm in for when I go up there in a couple months. Me being a car guy I'm definitely gonna drive a lot, but I also wanna check out their public transportation system and see how it compares to the rest of the country and how much better it is. But I feel like I'm in for a sticker shock when it comes to the tolls.

And yet nothing to fix the mess on NJ 73 between the I-295 and NJTP ramps

That's NJDOT area.  The NJTA stops at the end of the ramps.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.
