Florida could soon overtake New York as #3 in population

NY was the most populous state 50 years ago until CA surpassed it. While we're not trying to get political on this forum, the reasons for the rapid population growth in TX and the appeal FL has is for lower business regulations and taxes. CA became a troubled state no longer has the reputation it once had: quality of life is a big issue for living in a certain place: the cost of living and climate are other huge causes of population shifts and migrations from one state to another. Michigan shrank abit because of Detroit continues to witness a major depopulation unlike any major city in the US has experienced before. And CA now has more Latinos than Anglos (the news media seems to avoid this topic), but this is historic considering CA at statehood (1850) was when the last time Spanish-speaking inhabitants were the majority until the peak of its Gold Rush immigration.
Get your kicks...on Route 99! Like to turn 66 upside down. The other historic Main street of America.

NYC is perhaps the last place in NY to have a robust job market.  Too bad the cost of living is so high there.

In my opinion, you pay for the privilege of being inconvenienced the closer you live to The City.

I'm surprised Florida hasn't already jumped New York. It'll be a while before any other state jumps New York, but I look for Georgia and North Carolina to overtake Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Michigan goes without saying.
