Life imitates 70's made for TV movie.  In "The Great American Traffic Jam", which involved the LA freeway system becoming completely gridlocked by a series of accidents occurring at strategic locations, there was one scene where a rock band, unable to get to their venue, staged their concert on the freeway instead.
