Driving with mookjo did a roadgeek tour of La Cinega Blvd in LA from 2:19 to 4:39 there is a freeway section seen here. Some Sources did say its hidden CA-170 but some insisted its a city managed freeway.

The current definition of Route 170 does not run south of the Hollywood Split any more, and the furthest south it has been signed (and may still be signed scantly) is along Highland Avenue.

The La Cienega corridor in this area was very likely supposed to be part of the route, but I don't think it is state maintaned.

La Cienega Blvd follows a portion of the proposed State 170 - Laurel Canyon Freeway alignment but is NOT a State Highway in any form. It isn't hidden, it is a City of Los Angeles maintained roadway.

I believe La Cienega is a county-maintained road. The CSHC still has a segment of Route 170 as "(1) Los Angeles International Airport to Route 90." in its definition, but it was never built, and neither was the portion of Route 90 that is also mentioned. I guess they can't relinquish what wasn't built.

There's still a SOUTH CA 170 shield at the Hollywood Bowl. That's the only shield still up on Highland. They should probably remove that, but there's still a CA 110 shield on Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena so maybe its not high on the priority list.

Interestingly enough, the END 170 shield at the Hollywood Fwy split was removed. Why? Who knows.

A shame that Freeway wasn't actually built. Looking at the map, it would have cut a very good diagonal route across the city connecting to all the other freeways. I remember that by the late 1960's the tide of public opinion was starting to turn against new freeways cutting wide swaths across the urban landscape and destroying neighborhoods. We had the same problem in New York City with many proposed expressways never built.

BTW, isn't parallel La Brea Ave. thru the Baldwin Hills a similar looking semi-freeway type road? Been many years since I was out there, but I seem to remember that.

La Brea has a high center divider, but it doesn't have any at-grade interchanges between Coliseum Street and Don Lorenzo.
