Max, your articles are wonderful and I do try to read them, but I find the website hard to use.  Whoever runs the website shuld figure a way to put a list like yours on the website itself where one can reference articles based on highway or region better.

Some good examples are cahighways and nycroads

My understanding is that M-123/H40 is the only County Route multiplex on a state trunkline in Michigan.

Nope.

That's why I'm glad these blogs are easy to edit.  Never hurts to just say "I think," "I don't know," or "my understanding is" when I don't know something with absolute certainty.  Usually there is a correction or two on these as I get new information.

It's just a standard Google Blog format in chronological order on the main page.  Incidentally the reason I created the list was to a basic directory for Daniel to link over the California State Route articles onto CAhighways.org.  Right now Doug, Adam, and of course me are the most common posters on Sure Why Not Now.  Generally we all tend to link over the articles to whatever sites we think they belong in, usually everything shows up on the Gribblenation Facebook page..  I'm thinking that I can do a directory for everyone here on the forum month-by-month by state but it would be too much effort to go back into the previous decade to do everything that has been posted.

Having some sort of directory is something I have on my to do list for the blog.

Right now, using the reference tags to various posts is one way you can navigate by route or state.  I have also done index pages for various serial features like the PA Turnpike, US 40, and others.

Sure, Why Not is evolving as it is growing as a place for those in the hobby to share their stories or features. It's more of a blog than a site so more of a hodgepodge of interests and ideas.

Max is right when it is a basic blogger page so the old index pages that we had on gribblenation aren't really part of the site. Doug and I are slowly experimenting through Sure, Why Not or our spinoff state specific general interest blogs.

The best part of the site has been being able to edit and correct in a much quicker format thab we did on gn.com/gn.net and that it really showcases how every road does tell a story.

But I have been thinking of better navigation and indexing so you're input is very much noted.

In going through our old Georgia material, I realized I never posted about our trip to Savannah in 2011.

New month means a new blog directory.  Again, I'll expand this one out as the month progresses.

McConnell's Mill State Park is just one hour north of Pittsburgh and is an excellent day trip.

One of the most scenic drives in New York State is NY Route 30 - The Adirondack Trail Scenic Byway.  Back in the spring of 2005, I took a roadtrip along the route and was amazed by its beauty.

Just finished the last 2017 blog entry and uploaded it back on Reply #205...that took way longer than I ever anticipated.  I'm really looking forward to getting some of the more hard-core mountain road entries from 2016 going.

Time to open up the April blog entries.  I know Doug published the Chain of Rocks Bridge but given the US 66 connection it felt more fitting to put it on a new post.

I believe the blue Connecticut "2" shield is close to South Green, near the end of Main Street in Hartford.

Some good examples are cahighways and nycroads

I'll note that I do try and capture Max/Tom's posts, and add the links to my pages when I do update rounds -- at least for the specific highway pages (not the points of interest, or ghost towns, or ...)

It's just a standard Google Blog format in chronological order on the main page.  Incidentally the reason I created the list was to a basic directory for Daniel to link over the California State Route articles onto CAhighways.org.  [...]  I'm thinking that I can do a directory for everyone here on the forum month-by-month by state but it would be too much effort to go back into the previous decade to do everything that has been posted.

Note that I tend only to read the Pacific Southwest forum. If you do not send these to me by email, I quite likely will miss them.

Iíll keep that in mind for future months.  May was pretty light for me regarding Californian Highways given I was out of state so much.  Iím planning on doing something for CA 190, CA 155 and a couple Tulare County Mountain Routes this week.  Iíll send a consolidated list at the end of the month, I think were a couple April highway  topics that slipped through the cracks.

Well, I did go through and capture what was posted through today, although I didn't always add the links to the LRNs, nor did I go through the travellogs to see if there was something that needed to be captured in the pages proper. If there was, please send me email. Given time lost to the Hollywood Fringe Festival (see www.hff18.org ) and reviews, I'm going to be working on these updates through at least the first few weeks of June. Sigh.

Most of the articles do contain some sort of LRN information.  I'll look to see what's in there and send you a summary.

I figure if the article contains LRN information, that LRN will be referenced by the current sign number, and I don't need a link in the LRN portion as well.

County Collecting is a fun way to get your kids and whole family involved with roadgeeking.  Friends of ours include the whole family in the pursuit of counties but also have made an interactive piece of family art.

There's a Cat in the Hat themed children's book called, "There's a Map on My Lap!"  My parents recently gave the book to us as a gift for my oldest son.  Here's what you would say a book review.  It's a great book for kids to learn more about maps.

"When I began writing about our visit to the Miniature Railroad, I kept struggling over how to discuss the exhibit's history while including the enjoyment of my two young sons during their first visit.  You see, neither of my boys wanted to leave the display.  Colton, my oldest, insisted on going around the display multiple times to see everything.  While Nash, my youngest, would stay at a certain area minutes at a time in amazement and waiting for the next train to come by. Sure, why not take a gander to the sign garden in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

As of September 2018, the sign garden is still there (apparently it is in Kerrtown, Pennsylvania).   Recent images here on Facebook.
