US routes that don't end at mainline US routes on either end

US 271's north end is at US 71B, the business route for US 71, in Ft Smith, AR. Its southern end is at TX 31 in Tyler. US 169's northern terminus is arguably where MN 169 meets US 53 and its southern end is at Memorial Drive in Tulsa. Are there any other US routes where both ends are not at mainline US routes (or interstates)?

The High Plains Traveler

U.S. 69 ends at MN-13 in Albert Lea on the north (originally U.S. 16), and TX-87 at Port Arthur on the south. Interestingly, the north end is only a couple of miles from I-90, but MnDOT has never seen fit to formally extend it.

US 52's west end is at the Canadian border and its east end is at Line Street in Charleston, SC.

This is the only US highway that passes through Indiana that meets this criteria.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

US Route 1 does not connect with a US route in either Fort Kent, ME or Key West, FL.

US 76 ends are in Downtown Chattanooga, TN and at Wrightsville Beach (Wilmington, NC) just a couple of miles from US 74's end.

US 30, 40, and 322 (the last two are multiplexed, so you might say that 322 ends at 40) end in Atlantic City, NJ.
30 ends at a pretty random location, two blocks past the closest major route (The Atlantic City - Brigantine Connector's on/off ramps).
40/322 ends at the last intersection before the boardwalk

Both routes' easternmost intersections with a main line is with US-9 in Egg Harbor Township

US 3 randomly turns into MA 3 on one end, and the other end is the Canadian border.

Are there any US routes that are Canada-Mexico?

That's a good example. I didn't think of that one.

That got me to thinking that US 78 ends at Line Street in Charleston and at TN 14 in Memphis.

I should have noted that international boundaries and bodies of water don't count. I was thinking of roads where both ends are at other roads.

US 48 in an almost, ending at WV 93 and VA 55 and I-81...

What about US 62? It ends at NY 104 and MX 45, which should fulfill your criteria, although I'm too lazy to look up whether or not MX 45 is a freeway or just a normal road (those have 'D' suffixed to them in Mexico, right?).

The system that includes MX 45 is basically Mexico's equivalent of US routes.

It depends on what you want to consider a "mainline"   US route, but US 209 ends at US 9W to the north and PA 147 to the south.

Although Florida may not have changed its postings yet, US 41 now qualifies as US 1 was moved to follow I-95 and FL 970 a year or two ago...?

Until 1964, US 6's west end (actually going eastbound) was at the junction of US 101A and what was then-Route 15 (now I-710) in Long Beach, while its east end remains at MA 6A in Provincetown.

At the same time, US 41 was sort-of extended over old US 1 to downtown Miami (it already went that way in AASHTO records).

Closest I can find is US 59.

US 95, US 191, US 83, US 85 at least.  And US 281 comes close (Canadian border at one end, Business U.S. 77 a few miles north of the Mexican border at the other), as does US 59 (new south end in Laredo, at the east entrance to the World Trade Bridge, just short of the Mexican border) and as noted previously US 62.  But bugo isn't counting those.

191 ends at SR 80 outside Douglas, with US 191 Biz continuing to the border (yeah, I know, it's fucked). US 281 has a signed spur, simply signed US 281 east/west, to the border in Hidalgo. US 59 makes it as much as any route that ends at an international bridge does. US 62 ends at NY 104 several blocks from the border.

Mods, please split the border to border route stuff into another thread.

US 101.  South end is an interchange with I-5, I-10 and CA 60.   North end is an interchange with I-5.
