I have not driven the segment of I-59 north of Birmingham in many many years. I used to drive it fairly often, but it's been a long time. I will be driving it next month, on a trip to Townsend and Gatlinburg, TN and Ashville, NC. I checked Google Maps and I see there are a number of work zones on this segment. Has anyone driven it recently? Can you give me an idea of what to expect in these work zones? I will be driving it on a Friday afternoon. Thanks for any help.

I drove it back in the fall of last year between Fort Payne and Collinsville.
They were in the process of repaving it from the looks of it and they've sealed the cracks between the sections of concrete.
It's all fun & games until someone summons Cthulhu and brings about the end of the world.

I also collect traffic lights, road signs, fans, and railroad crossing equipment.
