Missouri Roadtrip Report!
« on: October 18, 2015, 07:28:30 PM »

I got back from my roadtrip about a day ago, so it's time to spill the details. This will be in a series, both due to size of photos and time being taken to upload them to Flickr. (It takes a while, longer then you'd think!)

Not sure how to write this, but here goes:

We start off on our usual route: US 7 to I-84 to I-81 all the way to the MD border. Some photos from that portion:

First, route 302 to CT 53...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then some local roads:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then onto US 7!

Then followed by a left onto I-84 West

                                           ----------

===================================================

Last shield in Connecticut:

It's this a-way:

We press onto, into, New York:

Part 2 will be here shortly.

Larger photos can be found on my Flickr page.

The first of what will be many road junctions:

A New York shield:

No thanks, I'm full.

Yes it can.

Now entering..

My favorite kind of area!

Compensating for anything?

One of my best all time shots!

Toll road!

Was it intentional?

A big development!

Coverup...or scandal?

Warning, notice, advisory...

A handsome sign

Short, sweet, and to the point:

Still not hungry.

Time to gas up!

No witty title or remark for this one

Note the sign 'hind this one:

I feel welcomed!

To be continued...

Nice pictures. I haven't been to the US in over three years, and the northeast was the last place I've been to there.

After a while (and some human intervention), all of the photos for the rest of Part 5 have been uploaded! Consider this Part 5A. This will cover from the I-81 rest stop at MM 80 to Paxtonia, Pennsylvania. Prepare for a long one.

Exit 90, this way

Junction I-78, 3/4 mile

Allentown or Harrisburg?

You're on...

What a name for a town!

I think we hit a storm.

This weather makes us look even more appealing, eh?

To PA 743

Might take you a while to get there, though.

On this exit

...Which is that way

A little beat-up

Exit 72

Ouch...what a wait.

Billboard collage, at I-81 S-MM 73.9

Hungry yet?

You might want to exit...

At this point, we got off I-81 and found our way to US 22, to bypass the excessive traffic, and then stopped at the newly-renovated Speedway in Paxtonia at the corner of Jonestown Road and Lockwillow Avenue.

Big ol' shield

"Strip" tease

Time for its closeup

I will soon continue this in Part 5B, due to the length of this one.

Here is Part 5B, from Paxtonia, PA on US 22, to the MD state line:

We then got on I-83 south at Exit 50, took it to PA 581, and then we followed it to rejoin with I-81.

Take your pick

North or South?

Our exit

Confederate Deposit

I-83 Southbound

Pleasing somehow

I thought Interstates were Eisenhower Boulevard(s)?

Pavement markings

South I-83 x 3

Crossing the Susquehanna

Following the Capital Beltway

You don't always need the Interstate shield

Interesting interval

The end of 581

Back on I-81 (south)

11's putting on a little weight

Tonight's a good night to sleep Inn.

You would even say it glows

Still button copy

Looks better that way

A shoutout to noelbotevera

I've done the Harrisburg to Hagerstown corridor dozens of times. It's so boring. I use all of those 81 exits on a daily basis. I just love Chambersburg, you should stop there to eat sometimes  :D.

Note: it's noelbotevera. I'm planning to get it changed soon.

I fixed it, Noel. Anyways, Here's Part 5C: the Mason-Dixon Line (MD State Line) to Hancock, MD at I-68.

First Sign Exit In Maryland

Why?

Now entering Hagerstown

1 mile to the National Road

Ready to stop yet?

Sure you're not hungry?

"We're halfway there, halfway there, halfway there..."

Junction I-70

Keep right

Pick your direction

Our first exit on I-70

Confirmation

This way-t to I-68

From Springs to a Pool

The fabled sign

Nearing Hancock

Lonely on 70 and 40

Don't let the truck fool you, it's 322.

This way back to the highway

Our next stop (and first food stop)
