Currently 17C (63F) and sunny, a great day to open the windows and enjoy the breeze.

Near normal temperatures for some, but still a few degrees above average for many others.  Regardless this is nothing unusual for early October....no record at risk here.  The good news is that the moisture/humidity have eased up considerably, even the islands will see dew points below 80 degrees and low to mid 70s dew points for most of South Texas; even better the sea breezes have returned since the end of last month.  Will be sunny to mostly sunny skies; no rain in the extended forecasts.  Starting to feel closer to Fall-like conditions.

                                  ACTUAL                            AVERAGE
BROWNSVILLE:      93 high; 79 low                  91 high; 75 low
CORPUS CHRISTI:  92 high; 77 low                  90 high; 74 low
LAREDO:                98 high; 73 low                  94 high; 70 low
MCALLEN:              95 high; 75 low                  92 high; 72 low

Nighttime Heat Index:  80 to 90 degrees
Daytime Heat Index:  105 to 110 degrees

Around 90 F today in Okinawa, low around 80 F.

After today, it starts "cooling down", highs merely in the mid-80s and lows in the upper 70s. Humidity is chilling out too, finally. Looking forward to some morning runs soon.

Weather-wise, drier lately. Which is nice, it has been so rainy this year. Way above average for rainfall; certainly, no shortage of water right now.

I was in mainland Japan last weekend (Fukuoka, in the Kyushu region) and it was feeling very much like Fall, not too humid and the trees were starting to change. Still warm though, around 80-85 degrees.

Edit: you can kind of see the colors of the trees changing. It was a lovely day:

No records in danger but we'll be 10+ degrees above normal highs for the foreseeable future. Lows are actually tracking about normal. Low 90s for highs and low 60s for lows because we're so dry.

Summer-like temperatures still hung around the Lone Star State this past weekend.  Triple digit temperatures in many locations in the eastern half of Texas, extending as far north as the DFW Metroplex.  I heard Baylor University in Waco reported 105 degrees or so on Sunday.  A couple of places in the Metroplex did reach 100 degrees, as did a few locations in the Houston metro area.  Though historically very rarely, 100 degrees in October have been recorded in the past as far north as the Red River.

As for our part of Texas, we are several degrees above average for mid-October.  And there is some rain in our forecast this week.

                                  ACTUAL                            AVERAGE
BROWNSVILLE:       94 high; 76 low                  90 high; 74 low
CORPUS CHRISTI:   93 high; 74 low                  88 high; 73 low
LAREDO:               101 high; 72 low                  92 high; 68 low
MCALLEN:               96 high; 71 low                  91 high; 71 low

Nighttime Heat Index:  Up to 84 degrees (for some locations on the islands)
Daytime Heat Index:  100 to 107 degrees

Sunny, no clouds that I can see, and nice and cool—it was 41° when my alarm clock went off at 7:00 this morning. Forecast high of 58°. I like this time of year: No need for AC, no need for heat, and while the same can be true for a part of springtime, I've come to appreciate fall because the latter doesn't bring pollen allergies with the nice weather.

It was shorts weather today, but we're looking at a few inches of snow by late in the weekend or early next week, with forecast high temps of 42°F on Monday and 37°F on Tuesday.

The Blizzaks were swapped onto the car today, to remain until late March or early April.

Awesome, you got to live out the world of Snowpiercer right there.

I may take -196F compared to what north of Boston has now, smoke so damn thick it looks like fog and you can barely breathe it in. Temperature inversions are hell with even small wildfires, given I am 20 miles from one and you would think I was much closer.

Not a lot of changes since the start of this month; we're still remaining several degrees above average across South Texas.  We're forecasted to see 90s for the rest of this month and even into the first couple of days in November.

As for the Heat Index: the SE winds coming from the Gulf of Mexico will keep the steady load of tropical moisture flowing into South Texas and dew points are still expected to remain in the 70s, which means at nighttime Brownsville and South Padre Island will probably still hang around low 80s even around the midnight hour, and during the daytime many locations across South Texas will see triple-digits as much as 105 degrees.

It's unusually warm today for late October. My 8:45-9am bike commute was 17C (63F) and partly cloudy, and the high is expected to reach 22C (72F). Halloween night looks warm (low 20's, upper teens) but there is a risk of rain.

We had a very localized air quality index in the mid-100s yesterday afternoon. It's back to normal now.

67F and overcast after a rainy morning.  Nice enough that the windows are open and the dogs have been sent outside for the afternoon.
