There's really no shame in it anymore.

The next one in my collection is 1183. I have a flurry of 11xx and 12xx from there.

I never thought there was any shame in it.  It's a valuable resource made available by people who are excited about highways and love to show the route shields.

I can't remember if the rules state that signs have to be "in the wild".

It's not mentioned on the first page, so they can be in your collection.

The only "negative points" (scoreboard shown between Route 466 and Route 467) that were not for posting out of turn were for 67, which was a bus number, and 283, where the shield was on pavement and not on a sign. I seem to remember that there was at least one from a collection somewhere. The one that was in the collection was not counted as a violation.

I found this TX Loop 497 on sale since it was over 24 hours without a post, and an in-kind-499 showed up just a few posts later.

I remember never specifying anything about this.  I would have liked if all the signs are in the wild, but it was too late to add an extra stipulation.  It doesn't make a difference.  In the wild?  In your garage?  Found it in an ebay listing?  It doesn't matter!

If it makes you feel any better, I found my photo of CR 497 in Jackson County, Alabama:

KY 1182 is not very far from where I live, but I don't think I have a picture of the sign.

There is both an FM-1182 and 1183 on this site as well.

And I made a two-mile detour today to get a photo of a KY 1182 sign, only to find out that number had already been played...
