Damnit you beat me to it. The road is the name of my existence. Lol

Huh. Its parent route makes me want to cry. I hate traveling on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
By the way, I-476 is the longest auxiliary interstate in the US.

Yeah I commute on 476 everyday and it takes up after its parent as far as traffic goes.

It would be interesting to have a side bet on when the thread ends (when, after X days in a row, there are no following-the-rules updates for the next number). $10 bet, closest to the "end" wins the pot :-)

...  Also- can you tell my numerical handwriting is inspired by highway gothic? (Look at the 4s, 5s and 9s especially)
Yeah, mine too.  OI've been told my handwriting (when I really want to make it look nice) could have been something that came out of a printer.  I try for the FHWA font style, especially with my numbers.

Because I'm insane, I kept track of the score of each person posting to the thread- who posted the most, etc.  You can see who deserves the most thanks for contributing the most to the game and stuff.  Posts highlighted in purple broke the rules, and were counted as -1 instead of +1.  The numbers that look like a digital scoreboard display after your name show your "score." The number in the leftmost column shows your rank.  I don't count because I'm the OP.  Data is shown up to 466.  Also- can you tell my numerical handwriting is inspired by highway gothic? (Look at the 4s, 5s and 9s especially)

Wait until 5 plus your previous post before posting again. Looking at you, national highway 1 lol.  The post above is a fail, but we'll keep moving on with 467 next.

As you can see, I've improved my behavior after the second marking period concluded.

Also, Texas Loop 478 in El Paso:

If I owned a dam and decided to donate it to charity, would I be giving a dam? I'm sure that might be a first because no one really gives a dam.

Not my image but... do current routes superceed eliminated ones in this game? Not sure. But here's the only suffixed 3DI.

Going to be seeing a lot more Florida in this thread.  :-P This photo taken by me doing map research for my old boss in February 2014.

Whose image is it, and could you add that to your post? One of the rules still in effect is giving photo credit when you're using other people's photos. Some people following this thread have, rightly, objected to uncredited use of their photos.

I had a WV 480 photo ready to post, but had to go offline to catch a ferry before its turn came up. If this game continues into the 500s, I'll have more to post then.

I'm not game for that bet. But we'll almost certainly hit the wall by 1000, when the posted numbers for Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York will have ended (also New Brunswick, still waiting for someone to post something for that province, as well as some minor routes in Saskatchewan), as well as for Interstate (max 990) and US (max 730) routes, and Quebec Autoroutes (topping out at 973). Kentucky can supply material into the 3000s. Hawaii has some widely scattered posted routes in the 2000 to 8930 range. Otherwise, probably pickings too slim to maintain interest.

Even before 1000, we might encounter numbers that no state, province, or country has posted.

There was never a rule about overriding in this game.

It's actually my photo — but I won't make a fuss, since the poster didn't claim to take said photo. It's good to know someone's out there checking out my photo stream.

As for running out of sequential photos to post...well, Florida has many up through 997, Pennsylvania signs up to 999, Texas has numbers through 999 and above, Virginia exceeds 1000 in places, and there's possibly some county systems with high numbers. I've always wondered if there's a signed 1000, and my guess it's a Farm to Market route in Texas.

There's a signed 1000 in Louisiana. Louisiana will take us up to about 1290. Beyond that, I'm going to be looking to Texas farm routes.

There's a KY 1000. I think I have a picture of the sign.

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

You never know what wacky numbering sequences you'll find in Counties and Parishes either. This could fill in some of the gaps, but one would likely have to painfully search for what is signed in the field. We randomly happened across Union Parish 5535 for instance in 2009:

This one's been posted in other threads.  A 491 from shortly after US 666 became US 491.  This one's in Monticello, Utah, 9/27/2003.
