Thought this was interesting. Anyone got a 1978-1979 Michigan map?

I think, but cannot recall or say with 100 percent accuracy, that I have also seen those two towns in an older Rand McNally atlas.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Those towns only ever appeared on the map put out by the State of Michigan.  You'll never find them on a Rand McNally or a Gousha.

Peter Fletcher, the highway commissioner at the time, approved those insertions into the map. Obviously, he was an  Uof M alum.

Believe it or not, a lot of Michigan high schools use the OSU fight song too.  Mine did.

WHAT? That's crazy!
Yeah, that's what we thought.  I was a freshman at a brand new high school (Forest Hills Northern) when it opened in 1972-right in the midst of the Bo-Woody era.  I think maybe the principal or one of the administrators was an OSU graduate.
