I believe we can advance to 238.  Which has to begin with..

I-238 from I-880.  July 26, 2007.

And nearby a California 238.  Also July 26, 2007.

Rhode Island 238 in Newport.  September 11, 2004.

Photos I post are my own unless otherwise noted.

Surprisingly I don't have a I-238 or CA 238...BUT I do have OR 238 in downtown Jacksonville:

Since I don't have any pictures of the route itself (next time I'm at my grandparents' place I'll have to venture out and get a few), instead I'll just post this MN-238 marker that my grandfather gifted to me during his time at the Stearns County Highway Department.

Replacing the above with a picture of the actual road, now that I have one. MN-238 at its southern terminus with I-94 in Albany. March 23, 2018.

Note the questionable use of Series D digits that barely fit the square marker.

Well past time to advance to 239.

First exit on I-94 into Michigan gives us M-239:

AL 239 near Smuteye:

Texas SH 239 begins in Austwell:

CO 239:

And a backtrack to an old VA 237 cutout in Falls Church (the sign assembly was since replaced with a stupid "Arts in the Little City" banner):

This begins a long hiatus for me. My next one will be a 262.

I'll start 240 with MB 240 on TCH 1A in Portage la Prairie, MB

Jim

There are three I-240s out there.  I'll cover Oklahoma's.  This in Oklahoma City.  July 2, 2013.

Not my best work, but at least the South Dakota 240 is shown nicely with some badlands in the background.  Taken in Interior.  July 19, 2003.

New York 240 in Amherst.  June 26, 2016.

May not be your best work, but South Dakota has been rather underrepresented in this thread (IMO, I'm trying (and failing) to remember the last time one was posted, and I don't really want to bother with digging through all 90+ pages), so it's good to see in any event.

I'm pretty sure that the only one I even posted was SD 89.  I even did a big trip out there last year and didn't bother to capture all that many shields for whatever reason. Shame too...I really should have at least gotten a SD 87.

Yeah, there's a fair number of states in here that are lacking in representation, most of which are in the Rockies or Plains states. Haven't seen too much from either of the Dakotas, Nebraska, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, and New Mexico–all have been pretty sparse in this thread, to varying degrees. And if it weren't for my contributions, Minnesota would be in the same group as well. Just comparatively speaking, the East Coast and the South get lots of representation in here, with second place going to the rust belt and Appalachia.

All told, I think that speaks more to where our contributors come from more than anything else. And maybe I'm completely wrong–it's not like I've been keeping tally for each time a particular state has been posted. I'm just speaking about what my perception has been so far, which certainly could be way off. What's truly lacking here are pictures from outside North America, but given that this is an American forum, that shouldn't be surprising in the slightest.

Yeah I've noticed that the bulk of the West Coast stuff has been coming from me; CA, NV, UT, and AZ.  I want to say that I've posted signs at least from 20 something states at least?  The weird thing in my case is that I've lived all over the country in the last decade, so really there ought not to be a lot of commonality with what I post.  The crappy thing is that I wish that I had some forethought years ago to actually take sign pictures because I have some complete albums of some really awesome roads that don't have a single sign in them.

Ironically my great roadtripping days didn't correspond well with my road photography days. If I had been into road photography when I was younger, I could have amassed great libraries from Arkansas, Appalachia, Ohio, and out west (via an epic road trip that passed through NM, Four Corners and the Grand Canyon on the way to Phoenix).

My work and travels typically keep me east of the Mississippi, except for lots of work in Texas, and a few on the west coast. There's a few sporadic but seemingly random out-of-region projects; I've been to Iowa and Alberta three times but only once to Minnesota. Driving trips are usually restricted to the southeast.

I think I've posted photos from 40 states so far, but honestly, I just squeezed in a few one-offs when available.

This is my problem too. I'd have a LOT more pictures if I'd even stopped a little bit during ages 18-22, when I traveled all over Minnesota and to South Carolina. Granted, they'd be shitty smartphone pictures, but I'd have a lot more of Minnesota (even more than the large amount I already do :)) and a number of pictures from the southeast.

Edit to add that we're now up to 241, just so that doesn't get lost in our little side discussion here.

California 241 from California 91 in Anaheim.  February 22, 2007.
