Here's a close-up shot of a bike/horse-and-buggy lane in Heidelburg, ON (this area is well known for its Mennonite population).

Post pictures of route marker/sign close-ups

This challenge is perfect for me, because, whenever I get out of the car to get a sign photo, I get one shot with context, and a second shot that's a close-up of the route marker, so I can crop the route marker into its own photo.  The close-up photos are never uploaded to Flickr because they aren't enjoyable to general audiences, but for this challenge, I'll make an exception!  Here's a great example from about a week ago, on an Indiana State Route I didn't even know existed: IN-329.

The photo with context:

IN-329NTS by Paul Drives, on Flickr

The close-up, for today's challenge:

IN-329C by Paul Drives, on Flickr

And here's the intended product of my close-up photos--an image that's nothing but the route marker itself, for my collection:

This is some insight into the way I collect sign photos.  To view my shield collections, check my flickr albums, like this one: https://flic.kr/s/aHskCcEALH

I'm assuming this challenge wants pictures from signs out in the field, otherwise I could post some extreme closeups of signs hanging on my wall. So, with that said:
Really old and ugly wide MN-101 marker in Chanhassen. Pic of the back, showing that it's nearly as old as I am.

These pictures are from July 2012, and AFAIK this marker is still there, four and a half years later.

I took this photo last weekend on I-86 between Salamanca and Olean, NY. The town names and river crossings along the highway have Seneca written in Comic Sans. I also saw some stop signs with Seneca, by my photo came out too blurry.

The Adirondack Northway (I-87) in upstate New York has several French signs both on the mainline, and at their rest areas. This first one is heading northbound just beyond exit 26 and warns drivers of the lack of cell reception driving through Adirondack Park as well as letting drivers know about there being a call box every two miles.

Then we have these English/French bilingual signs at a rest area heading southbound in the town of Bolton, between exits 24 and 23, that show that the state law prohibits idling diesel engines.

And lastly (and unrelated to the Northway), a Spanish child at play sign along 3rd Street in Wilmington, DE...

There are two parts needed for me to fulfill this challenge.

The suffixed route...

Weird, the photo below makes no topological sense, if this is presumed to be the northern end of a pair of E-W split routes...
