The sign partially obscured by the pole is for the Qu'Appelle Valley Scenic Route. SK 10 takes you to the Qu'Appelle River Valley from TCH 1, then you can follow SK 56 along the river (which I did and it was definitely pretty!)

Unfortunately I don't have a photo, but here's the street view link for the Grand River Scenic Parkway (Haldimand CR 17).

QuoteMay 14, 2017 Challenge: Since today marks the anniversary of the beginning of the Lewis and Clark expedition, post photos of any sign that is in reference to a frontier trail/military road.

That was yesterday's Challenge (unless you're posting from the middle of the Pacific)...

My post a few days ago of the Oregon Trail also includes the Historic Columbia River Highway, but I won't bother with a re-post.

Here's one from the northernmost reaches of the Great River Road near Lake Itasca in Minnesota.  July 12, 2003.

Moving well to the south to New Madrid, Missouri.  July 23, 2005.

How about the Bronx River Parkway?  June 8, 2008.

Official installs only–no novelty signs! And of course, pictorial signs with the silhouette of the animal are preferred. :-)

Okay, one I'm ready for! :)

From a random roadtrip back in 2009. Best welcome sign I've ever come across...

Many options here.  I'll start with these three and if I have a chance, post a few more later.

Nene Xing.  Hawaii 11.  August 30, 2006.

Panther Traffic on Collier County 951 in the Naples, Florida, area.  January 31, 2009.

Yes, but what's the scenic/river route that goes along with it?

And I'm including this one because my gf and I were amazed by the ridiculous mileage posted for this warning.  Only 1 millionth of the distance to the sun!

This Elk Crossing sign is on KY 66.

And this is it with a little personalization.  :-D

There used to be a Bear Crossing sign on KY 160 at the top of Pine Mountain at the Harlan/Letcher county line, but it's long gone.

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

This particular sign (specifically its westbound counterpart) is exactly what prompted this Challenge idea when I saw it yesterday. :-)

Right, that's what I meant. I believe the Challenge was intended to show named, designated scenic routes, such as the Great River Road (although admittedly it wasn't entirely clear).

There is a BEAR XING sign on US 90 between Patterson and Berwick, LA.

Also, not sure if this counts as official: (Not my photo.)

It follows the Delaware River for almost its entire length.

Power Road in Farmington MI.  The sign was removed when the street was rebuilt several years ago.

Reposted from the 01/15/2017 challenge -- it's definitely not in the MUTCD, but it's an official sign installed by the city.  Eleven Mile Road, outside the Farmington Hills MI city hall.
