May 22nd Challenge:

[2 more catch-up challenge pictures coming, but I do not have time to have got all of them to Flickr because I am leaving early tomorrow morning for a trip to Charleston, SC - will update ASAP when I get back in a few days]
Now alternating between different highway shields for my avatar - my previous highway shield avatar for the last few years was US 76.

Well, you can always do up to three in one post, rather than having to post them consecutively. Remember that posting limits do still apply during the monthly recap.

Also, be sure to quote the Challenge statement (not just the date) for the Challenge you're responding to, so that we know what we're looking for in the photo and don't have to scroll back and try to find the list.

Because it's the 1st and I'm feeling cheeky, I'm going to copy the example from the rules:

With hundreds of US 1 pictures to choose from, I'll pick one that allows me to add my own subchallenge, showing a 1 together with as high a number as possible.  This one's in Homestead, Florida.  May 29, 2004.

I'm actually surprised by how few SR-1's I have in my collection.  Then I realized there's a bunch of states with no SR-1 at all...WI, OH, AZ, SD, and NV to name a few...not to mention all the states that US1 passes through.

(alpsroads)

Plaquemine, LA and Shreveport, LA are connected by LA 1.

You can continue from either destination listed.

I would have made this a new thread, except I think there are too many challenge threads right now. If you think this deserves its own thread, you can create it.

June 3, 2017: With the summer travel season starting up, post pictures of signs for National Parks.  These can be actual entrance signs or signs elsewhere that guide you to a park.

I'll start with three favorites:

Denali, on the park road.  June 18, 2001.

Yellowstone north entrance.  July 14, 2003.

And let's go way, way back to my first Grand Canyon visit.  Western entrance of the south rim park road.  August 27, 1985.
