I-290 in Auburn, Massachusetts as of March 24, 2001.
Unfortunately, this sign is no more.  It was struck by an overheight truck last April.  Both the sign and horizontal member of the structure were removed, and the sign was replaced with a temporary (and conventional) ground-mounted sign.  Under the pending I-290 Auburn to Worcester sign replacement project, the remaining diagrammatics for Exit 7 are to be replace with conventional signs, as traffic will be directed to use Route 12 via Exit 8 instead of Exit 7.
Will the Exit 7 ramp to Route 12 North (prior to where the Pike tollbooths once were) be eliminated?

Current Exit 8 signage is signed for Route 12 South.  I'm not sure of the actual traffic counts for either ramp but do you really want to dump more traffic onto Oxford St. which is largely residential?
The Exit 7 ramp to Route 12 north will be retained.  However, you raise a good point about Oxford Street - MassDOT may want to design the new Exit 7 signs so '12 NORTH' can be added if the planned re-routing causes issues.

No offense but this is one case of MassDOT trying to fix something that wasn't really broken.  One reason to use Exit 8 over Exit 7 to reach Route 12 northbound was essentially eliminated when the Turnpike tollbooths were taken down last year.  That said, I'd keep the 12 NORTH legends on the new Exit 7 signs.  IMHO, such will save MassDOT from any future embarrassing backlash/blowback from the locals & highway users.

Side bar & OT: the new I-90 eastbound signage for Exit 9 should not list NY City on them.  Most NYC-bound traffic west of Sturbridge isn't going to use I-84.  Either the previous Sturbridge/Hartford, CT combo or just using Hartford, CT for those BGS' would suffice.

We now return to our regularly scheduled Daily Picture Challenge thread; already in progress.  :sombrero:

Ohio Turnpike. The distance would put it near Toledo but I can't find it anywhere on GSV even on the 2007 imagery.

Great challenge, but every single junction with the appropriate geometry that I've taken pictures of either uses right-angle arrows or two separate shields and arrows. :banghead:

Now I really regret not taking a cell phone photo of the split I-65-70 shields in downtown Indianapolis :-/

But I do have this awesome sign taken on New Dundee Rd (RR 12) at Trussler Rd (RR 70) in North Dumfries, ON! I've also seen 7/8 shields on Regional roundabout signage.

I-68 West Virginia

No. That's County Route 73/12 and it's one route. This is a prime example of West Virginia's "fractional" route system. In this case, the parent route (numerator) is, or was, the now-defunct WV 73. The denominator indicates this is the 12th route that branches off WV 73 that uses it as a parent. See an explanation on Page 12 of this document: http://millenniumhwy.net/wvroads/system.pdf

Now who's got a New Jersey US 1&9 for us?
