Here's a 4-for-1 from Autoroute 40 in Québec.  I'm sure there are opportunities to get 5 or more.  June 28, 2011.

Avenue of the Saints. This is near Taylor, Missouri.  June 27, 2013.

And something a little different, a Blue H to get you to Saint Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York.  October 26, 2008.

If I may suggest, excluding the abbreviation "St." or "St" would make this a more challenging Challenge. (Allowing the feminine "Sainte" also seems like a good idea, as shown a few photos above.)

And since I have space left in this post (regarding the 3-pictures-per-post rule in this thread), I will treat you all with a close-up picture of this BGS:  ;-)

Ah, but what about the one-answer-per-Challenge rule? ;-)

I agree with that.  For my post, I deliberately avoided the abbreviated form, as it appears Jim did as well.

Yes, I searched specifically for ones that are spelled out, as empirestate suggests, to make it just a little more of a challenging challenge.

When we passed through again later after dark, we did manage to run into some witches.

Are they OK?

Quebec seems to be dominating this challenge. Here's a twofer on Autoroute 10...

Sticking with Canada, here's NB 1 in Saint John, New Brunswick...

This likely wouldn't count, but what about the Spanish word for saint, san? Here's San Bernardino on I-605 at the I-10 interchange in southern California...

Hmm, yeah, I guess because in French-speaking areas, it's far less universal to abbreviate "saint" or "sainte" than it is in English-speaking areas. Perhaps the Challenge should have been to look for "saint" spelled out, in an area where it's almost invariably abbreviated. So...

Both Philadelphia & International are typically abbreviated on signage (usually as Phila & Int'l); here's one BGS that spells both words out.

Not to mention "FARM ROAD" spelled out when not part of a shield (although the reason is obvious).

In the vein of that FM sign, here's one in Iowa at the junction of US-65/IA-117/IA-330:

If you look closely at that image, you'll notice that there's also a normal JCT assembly further down.

Then, going the other way, is this sign, which is unusual for including the black backgrounds for the circle shields:

The first sign I thought of when I saw this challenge was this one on the Thruway just before exit 41.  I remember the first time seeing it as a kid, and thinking that it was obnoxiously wide.  While "National" isn't always abbreviated, I think it would help to use "Nat'l" for this sign.

After seeing the junction signs in the past few posts, I thought of this junction sign not too far from the Thruway sign I mentioned above.  I can't recall ever seeing another one like it in NY.

Trafficway is usually abbreviated TRFY, and when it's spelled out, it's almost always one word, not two.
