The trouble I'm having with this challenge is not with the challenge itself, but rather deciding what to post. So, I'll just post this picture of the three (out of four, just need Idaho now) states for which I have shields from the MSR 200. (And before anyone says anything, yes I screwed up measuring the spacing for the Montana shield, don't mention it. :-P)

^ I love that you're collecting all the 200's.  My dream is to rename the western US2 as "US0" and then we can make the SR-200's into US200.  If I were to go to North Dakota, most of the state highway markers will still be the bust of the native American, right?

I can't contribute to today's challenge, so this is just a text post.  I just live in an apartment, and I don't feel like I live in a place where I can appropriately store any sign panels.  That's one reason I haven't acquired any physical signs.  Plus, once I start collecting something, I commit fully and never stop until I get some kind of completion.  This means that if I start a collection of physical signs, my wallet will quickly be drained of all its money  :-D

A small storage unit costs maybe $50/ month, depending on size. You can also use it to store stuff that may be cluttering  your apartment.

Pardon me as well for not having a picture to contribute for today's challenge, but I must say that it is incredibly cool that you actually yourself have some shields of that Multi-State Route 200. I do hope that you are able to collect the Idaho one as well!! That really is so awesome, and thank you very much for sharing!

Yeah, ever since I fell in love with MSR 200 concept (though I've only clinched the part east of I-29–I should really plan a trip to clinch the whole thing someday) I decided I needed to have one shield from each of the four states (a MT-200S shield would be sweet, too.) They're the only exceptions to what is otherwise purely a collection of Minnesota highway markers.

As far as whether or not ND still has a lot of Indian head route markers, I have no idea–someone else can probably comment on that. I was last in ND in 2011, which was before the switch to the bland garbage route marker (and sadly, a time before I considered road photography all that important.)

Sadly, I figure Idaho is actually going to be the most difficult one to acquire, given that it's the shortest (only 33 miles!) constituent of the four-state-long route.

I spent a few days with a surveying crew on I-69 in Southern Indiana in the summer of 2015. Here's a photo looking east (northbound) near the current SR 45 exit.

GSV in the area actually has a really neat perspective on the construction. https://goo.gl/maps/3MuKpeTtbxL2 and https://goo.gl/maps/GCtsibrA71B2

Good, quick thinking!

When I was looking at this thread yesterday evening, I did notice that, at that moment, November 5th did not have itself a challenge yet. I didn't have the time and quick thinking to come up with a challenge myself for that day before it ended (by the time I noticed that), so I applaud you for taking on the responsibility.  :D

Technically, a challenge stays open until someone (presumably other than the OP) posts a response:

QuoteHowever, a Challenge is not closed if there are no pictures submitted that satisfy it, but we still move on to the next day's Challenge.

So dgolub was okay to post.

And then things went backwards...
