Maybe this doesn't count because the road is open the rest of the year, but here's Mrs. wanderer at the Labor Day 2005 Mackinac Bridge walk.

At the top of the narrow paved road descending, from the west end of HI 240, into the Waipio Valley on Hawaii's Big Island:

Two other signs there restrict the road to 4x4 vehicles (AWD isn't good enough). You have to use first gear, low range to descend the three-quarter-mile-long grade without burning up your brakes, and also to climb back out of the valley.

I therefore submit the Spanish standards for steep grades, both ascent...

... and descent.
Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

The Johansen Expressway along the north side of Fairbanks AK. Like most roads of any importance in Alaska, it's state-maintained, but it doesn't have a route number. At least when I was last in the main part of Alaska in 2012, it was the only freeway in the state with exit numbers.
