New year, so I'll come up with a new challenge - how about photos with stationary traffic in both directions. I suspect those living in certain parts of California may find this an easy challenge eh :colorful:

QuoteJanuary 1, 2018: Post a picture showing congestion in both directions

I'll start with three photos near me I've taken over the years.

I just found out about the "monthly recap" rule, which lets me backtrack to some challenges I missed.

Well, it's not a rule so much as a convention. A couple of times, other Challenges have gotten posted before I got around to the monthly recap, so those aren't technically illegitimate–they're just kind of overshadowed (and they don't make it into the next month's recap, either). I've thought about actually setting it down as a rule, but with interest in the game apparently dwindling, I haven't seen it as a priority.

I'm not the boss or anything, so I can only suggest things...so I suggest we keep yesterday's challenge open because nobody got to submit anything for it.  We'll let this thread's admin make a final verdict though.

That's right, and it will also be eligible for the next monthly recap. (It's even possible there's some Challenge out there from long ago that's still open under this rule...)

Are there anymore empty days from months ago that still haven't had a challenge produced for them at all yet? And if so, and somebody makes a challenge for them, if they were quite a while ago, then what monthly recap would they fit into? I ask this because I just remember some days that never had a challenge at all, at least not yet, but it was just a few of them.

IMO, if we miss a day, just leave it. We can fix it during the recaps, but why go back if we miss it? Just keep going forward.  Just my 2 pfennigs.

Yeah, tons. They get listed in the monthly recap–if anyone gets around to making a list, that is. If the Challenge is from months ago, then it misses being eligible for the recap and just becomes a one-off; basically a wild card.

Then your best option is to simply not use any of them, if you don't like the idea of going backwards. It's certainly not required that they be used, but they're there if needed. And the game is arranged so that there's always a new Challenge with each new day, because I agree that always moving forward is a good idea.

That is a good point. I'm glad it's in place if we ever need it, but I guess it is isn't the most efficient option to go backwards, so moving forward is something I am okay with as well. There are a lot of those empty days that never had a challenge posted for them, so most of them will probably never be fulfilled.

Speaking of moving forward, as of just a few minutes ago, at least in my time zone, it is now a new day, and someone can post another new challenge, though I myself don't have one on hand at this moment.
