I had the impression this latest challenge required having two different shield types in the photo so two state highway or two interstate shields don't count or maybe I interpreted the instructions wrongly.

Well, what I'm seeing really isn't what I had in mind.  That's what I get for posting when half-awake.  My idea was for examples where signage for one route of a concurrency looks like an afterthought, not simply that it's a separate sign or assembly.

Here's a Chicago from I-280 in Iowa.  July 26, 2016.



US 12 passes through Chicago.  Here's its western end in Aberdeen, Washington.  July 30, 1999.



I-55's northern terminus in Chicago.  Here's what I believe was the first I-55 north shield at its southern terminus in Louisiana.  August 27, 2003.

Now I know why there's a Goose Island beer called 312. I never could understand what the number meant until now.

Somehow I don't have any that are definitely legitimate, but I'll stretch the definition of a "road sign" to "boating channel sign" and offer this one in Naples Bay in Florida.  December 31, 2004.
