Challenge: ––> Pictures of Bridges! Over water, or long viaducts. NO OVERPASSES PLEASE!! The bridges must be of fairly substantial length.

Here are two photos of different parts of the Admiral Cleary bridge within the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii. The first photo focuses on the unusual retractable pontoon part of the bridge, that can be pulled out of the navigation channel if needed. The second shows the fixed part of the bridge, including widened support piers with room for the pontoon when it's retracted. The total length of the bridge is about 4700 feet.

Until the bridge was built, ferries were used to shuttle sailors and cargo between Ford Island and the rest of the base.

That is REALLY cool! I want to see it in the retracted state, but the pictures you have make it pretty clear how it would work. It's enginios, too, as you cannot block the navigation channel by blowing it up, you can only sink the bridge, I guess this is why they went the unusual route with the retractable portion and not a drawbridge, and I'm assuming a tunnel would be out of the question because of depth/space constraints.
I build roads on Minecraft. Like, really good roads.

Some from the Alaska trip of 2001.

The first Alaska Highway bridge over the Yukon River.  Mile 867.  June 13, 2001.

The suspension bridge carrying the Alaska Pipeline across the Tanana River at Big Delta.  June 15, 2001.

The bridge to Glacier View Park in Alaska, where you can (and I did) walk on the Matanuska Glacier.  June 21, 2001.

A few more bridges:

^ A long covered pedestrian bridge carrying the Trans-Canada Trail over Riviere Gatineau, near Wakefield QC. This was one stop on an Ottawa road meet. Forum members vdeane and DrFrankenstein are in the photo.

^ A truss bridge on the Parks Highway in Alaska (AK 3), somewhere between Denali National Park and Fairbanks (I'm on the road, so I can't consult the Milepost for details), which I photographed on my 1994 Alaska road trip. I was amazed that I was able to set up the tripod and snap the photo of both bridge and rainbow, moments before the rainbow winked out.

^ US 64 over the Rio Grande gorge in New Mexico. The viewing area south of the bridge has a chainlink bridge to corral the tourists, but someone was kind enough to cut a hole in the fence just large enough for my wideangle lens.

I hadn't thought about pictures of bridges taken from airplane windows.  Here's one with three bridges over the Mohawk River.  Taken January 27, 2009, shortly after takeoff from ALB.

Here, we're seeing Freemans Bridge in the upper left, the Western Gateway Bridge (NY 5) upper center, and the Exit 26 (NY 890) bridge in the lower right.  Link to full resolution image.

Edit: the fourth "bridge" just above the 890 bridge is Lock 8, not a bridge carrying traffic or pedestrians.

Not entirely road related, but it should count. This is the Little Rock skyline with the Main Street/Scott Street bridge going over the Arkansas River. (I took this myself earlier today.)

I take pictures of road signs, that's about it.

General rule of thumb: Just stay in the "Traffic Control" section of the forum and you'll be fine.

Oh, and the Deh Cho Bridge carrying NT 3 across the Mackenzie River near Fort Providence NT. This opened in 2012, replacing a ferry and winter ice bridge.

^ The bridge, from the old ferry landing on the south shore of the Mackenzie River.

^ A more distant telephoto view of the bridge, from several km upstream, at the north end of the now-permanently-closed ice bridge crossing.

I actually had a picture to submit for that challenge, but I didn't notice the challenge until after midnight locally and was too late. I will post it, though, once the recap starts here in the next few days.

Small TRUCK tab for exit 84 along I-49 in Louisiana. Trucks were banned from the US 165 2-laned bridge a few miles further. Now that it has been 4-laned, the truck banners need to be removed here.

QuoteApril 29, 2018: Pictures which clearly show a route marking contradiction by the way they're signed.

Might be hard to get it from just the wording of the challenge, so let me give my example:

This is the north terminus of MN-238, west of Little Falls, and at the back of the intersection, MN-28 is only signed as going west (left side of the picture), which implies that MN-28 doesn't go east from this junction, yet you can see on EB MN-27 that MN-28 is still signed as going east (on the right side of the picture; as it's supposed to be.)

Maybe this example fits the bill. First two signs show South LA-1 and an incorrect East LA-1. In the background LA 1 and the correct LA 28 are shown.

All we need is a photo of a dead skunk in the middle of the road. Of course, you'd need a telephoto lens to get that shot.

Nothing special in the design department, but still a pretty nice shot of a new bridge. This is the new Iowa 98 bridge over the Des Moines River, connecting Douds and Leando.

This would be a better picture if it weren't for the dashboard reflections in the windshield, but oh well. The John A Blatnik Bridge connecting Duluth, MN and Superior, WI. Note that this is at the one and only true exit (IE not either of the termini) on I-535, and that it doesn't have an exit number. I wonder if MnDOT will be forced to add one at some point.

I could've sworn I had a better example of this very sign assembly that made the signs look even thinner, but I cannot find it, though I suppose this still suffices well enough. This is at GA SR 151 Northbound reaching US 41/US 76/GA 3/GA 2 in downtown Ringgold, Georgia:

Quote4/24/17 ––> Challenge: pictures of tunnel signage, and tunnels. Large underpasses, as in by length, will count.

This is from off of US Highway 101 Northbound in San Francisco, California, right before reaching the Golden Gate Bridge (which is the focus of the photo right after this one in my post). This picture was taken on my trip to San Francisco a few months ago (during New Year's):
