From the rules in the opening post:

4. The entire name of the street being played must be visible and legible on the sign for it to be playable, either directly or by way of any other rule.

I can't see the whole name behind that "BE PREPARED TO STOP" sign.

That rule is my fault...it wasn't an original rule

I played off jbnv's post (thread reply #1277) of Ryan St on a BGS, and via N-rule, played Enterprise Ave, despite only "e Ave"  being visible. My thought was the Final letter is what would be played on anyway, so I continued with Eden Park Dr in reply #1278

jbnv allowed the play in reply #1281, but then further detailed the rule that Plays must be fully visible, whether Direct plays or Special Letter Rule

Lots of ___n place names in the city name thread, though as it happens I haven't yet run out of the N___ place photos I gathered on my quickie Quebec trip in October.

I'm running into more ____r street names than I prefer. But as the below sign illustrates, there are a lot of them out there (even though in this instance I'm not playing one).

Yeah, agreed, the restriction on not-duplicating street names is difficult to enforce for a game that is now 81 pages deep.  Particularly when more than one contributor might play a street from the same area.

If you're going to pluck stuff off the AARoads photo galleries (I've done a lot of that), I suggest right-clicking on the thumbnail of the photo you want to use, then "open link in new tab". That calls up a larger version that meets forum guidelines and is better to use here.  Like, for example, https://www.aaroads.com/west/oregon005/i-005_sb_exit_292_01.jpg
