Oak Creek Cir.

And this, Cherokee County, is why you shouldn't have used squeezed Series B on that sign. (The name was "Oak Crest", ending in a T.)

Yeah, sorry about that, I should've scrolled up a little more to read what you said the sign said.

7/8

Airline Highway to East Mint Place (in Winnipeg, taken today through a dirty windshield)

So, what now? Everything since the screw up is invalid, or are we just rolling with it?

If we're going back, I proffer this:

Oak Crest Circle → Thomas Beck Road (Des Moines, IA)

If we're rolling with it I'll just delete this post.

Why don't we treat this last picture as though it had been played after Eth and before Oscar? That way, Oscar's post and everything after it would have been valid and the next play is a "t" from what 7/8 posted.

Going with that idea, I'll play East Mint Place ---> Telegraph Road (signs on the Outer Loop of the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia)

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"
—Kolzig, to the same reporter a few seconds later.

If we do that, then... my picture above is also a T and thus would be valid. :spin:

My point was that we would treat yours as coming after Oak Crest and prior to Ka Uka because it would fit perfectly right there in terms of making the sequence work correctly. Oscar simply misread Oak Crest as "Oak Creek" and thus played the wrong letter.

Oooh, I misunderstood you entirely. :pan: This solution works for me. Carry on then! (My pick of using Thomas Beck Rd was completely coincidental, by the way–I'm not smart enough to have thought of it the way 1995hoo did.)

Edit — so I will continue:

Telegraph Road → Holmes Street (Des Moines, IA)

7/8

Holmes Street to Chemin St. Anne's Road (in Winnipeg, MB)

Chemin St. Anne's Road → Star View Street (Des Moines, IA)

(Isn't Chemin ____ Road redundant? I looked up chemin and found that it means "path" or "way" in French, so wouldn't adding "road" be superfluous? Or is that a quirk of Canada/Canadian French? Or is it something akin to "Third Street Court" where the name has two suffixes because it's derivative of "Third Street"?)

It's just being bilingual, with the road type in both French and English. The Canadian provinces adjacent to Quebec are best at bilingual road signs, but it's used to a lesser extent elsewhere.

======

This one, like one I posted awhile ago from Colorado, shows a street blade with a mini-route marker preceding the street name. The city of Falls Church has lately been adding them on numbered highways passing through the city.

Ah, okay. As someone not used to seeing bilingual signs, it caught me off-guard.

N Washington Street → Nash Drive (and with this play, I have now played every named N____ street within Des Moines city limits)

Eth

Nash Dr -> Houston Mill Rd (unincorporated DeKalb County, GA)

I've been at my computer all morning, which helps. :) Normally, since I work overnights, I'm usually asleep by now.

Eth

Fountain Rd -> North Decatur Rd (not a prefix, refers to a part of unincorporated DeKalb County just north of Decatur)

And with that, I'm out of Ns for the moment. Fortunately, I know where I can go grab a couple more.

7/8
