Deep Woods Ct. => Sidewinder Road (Andrade CA) -- rather describes the routing on my current road trip :)

Rampart (Street? Road? I hate unsuffixed names) → Terrace Road (Des Moines, IA)

(Utah is particularly bad in that regard, with ugly AF names like "8000 South." What are you, the Borg? Can't come up with something a little more unique?)

Rampart (Street? Road? I hate unsuffixed names)

For some reason, New Orleans leaves the suffix off on sign blades like these.

Terrace Rd. => Extraterrestrial Highway (tales you to UFO and Area 51 mecca Rachel NV):

Actually, such street names are part of a unique and rather logical (once you get the hang of it) grid-based address system. Places are given addresses like "800 North 300 West", which is on a street corner near and northwest of the city center (the temple like Salt Lake City's, or some other landmark).

Lakeshore Dr. => Elizabeth Street (Hardesty OK), no suffix visible on this weather-beaten street blade but I used Google Maps to figure it out:

Anybody know of a good way to find where a street is located in a jurisdiction? I have a D_B that I'd like to play, but I want to pinpoint where it is before I play it. I have a general idea of where it is but having trouble finding it.

Not necessarily the best way, but try a Google search on the street name, with as much narrowing info as you have. You'll probably come up with real estate listings on that street, which can help pinpoint the location.

I've already tried that. The listings were mostly in a community that I know I didn't visit. The street sign that I snapped was at an intersection with a major road, so I suspect the street itself is a feeder into a subdivision. I remember the route that I took to collect the images, but I logged a lot of miles on that trip.

You can also search for streets within Google Maps. It works pretty well so long as you're zoomed into the general vicinity of the street, or at least in the city or a nearby one.

Howard Avenue → Deerpath Court (Des Moines, IA — fun fact: I have seen a deer on Deerpath Ct, so the name isn't entirely lame. :spin:)
