Shian Gao photo spheres trolling Google Maps?

I'm not sure if this would be different between different countries' Google Maps, but on the Canadian Google Maps, various states and provinces have the same photo sphere (from user Shian Gao) pop up when you click on the states/province. Currently, this is for (at least) Indiana and Manitoba, but Ontario and Saskatchewan used to have this as well.

First, click on Indiana and the panel will pop up on the side:

Clicking on the photo sphere leads to this green hilly location:

Then leaving the photo sphere through the back arrow on the upper left leads to Google Maps being centred on Oman, which from what I understand is completely desert :hmmm::

I also just noticed that Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey have photo spheres with palm trees, all taken by Shian Gao! Here's a screenshot for Delaware.

How does this guy make sure that his stupid photo spheres make it to the top of these states/provinces?

I've confirmed it also happens in the Spanish version. I've done a bit of research, and those photos are actually from the Chinese province of Guangdong. The "Delaware" sphere was actually taken in Shenzhen: https://www.google.es/maps/@22.5530746,114.0488439,3a,66.8y,149.7h,85.91t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sCAoSLEFGMVFpcE5sLTdkeW1XbGFZQ0Q1Wjg0NGxzQ0lNYTM2OUtPcWktSzNsanNR!2e0, and there is another palm photo that made it to other US states which is from Shunde, Foshan (next to Guangzhou). I guess the hilly location is from somewhere around the Pearl River Delta, too.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.
