I hate seeing "fans" riot after a loss. Real sports fans know losing is part of a game, you ain't gotta be happy about it, but it happens.. These aren't real sports fans. They act like they have something to do with the game.. So stupid.

And, that winning or losing really means anything in the grand scheme of things.  This behavior is why "fans" was shortened from fanatic.

Also, I don't know if this applies in Vancouver, but many people in these sports riots are simply hooligans using the sporting event as a cover.

Another Game 7 loss, another riot.  I can't believe after the problems in 1994, Vancouver PD didn't have a contingency plan.  From the footage I've seen, they were far outnumbered and ill-prepared.

Back in February and June 2009, Pittsburgh PD was ready to quell any problems by being stationed before the end of the games in the university area in Oakland and the South Side along East Carson Street.  The latter was mostly traffic control because people spilled out of the bars and onto 837.

Bruins - June 2011
Celtics - June 2008
Patriots - February 2005
Red Sox - October 2007

So all four major sports teams in Boston won their championships in approximately six years and four months.

I didn't even know that Canadians knew how to riot.
I don't have opinions anymore. All I know is that no one is better than anyone else, and everyone is the best at everything

Most, outside of Montreal, don't.

All it miss is the other sports teams like New England Revolution (MLS/soccer) and the Boston Blazers (NLL/indoor lacrosse) to win their championship leagues)

Bad news for Canada when the Canucks lost the Stanley Cup to the Bruins in one game, but good news for Winnipeg is the Jets 2.0 are back at town, the relocated Atlanta Thrashers found a new place and warmly welcomed by Winnipeg locals.

I watched the NHL premiere game in Finland of the Anaheim Ducks, starring Captain Teemu Selanne plays in his homeland, plays against the Buffalo Sabres (beats Ducks 4-1). The L.A. Kings met the Sabres in another NHL premiere game in Berlin.

Ice Hockey is cool (make that HOT!), love the sport's speed, skill, stamina, strategy and skates on ice. Canada's national sport, has expanded over the decades (Anaheim Ducks are my fave team, but has the older Mighty Ducks logo) and the opponent team fights are contradictory to Canada's image as a "polite" people (yeah, right).  :pan:
Get your kicks...on Route 99! Like to turn 66 upside down. The other historic Main street of America.

QuoteEven though I'm from Texas, im one of the few hockey fans here. My favorite teams are the Dallas Stars and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Any more fans? I'm sure there are...

I work with a guy from Minnesota who still views the North Stars moving to Dallas as the day he stopped enjoying hockey.  :-P

His loss! Great sport.  I'm a homer here.  Anaheim Ducks! Think I need to get on board and buy season tickets one of these years.

Pennsylvania got three out of four just in the span of eight months.

A 4-3 OT win for the Caps.

The Canes had their annual season ticket holder pre-game skate last weekend.  Got to see the Pens practice and also meet and talk to Pens broadcaster Mike Lange.

The Montreal Canadiens got a bad season this year, they fired Jacques Martin as coach to replace him by interim by Randy Connyworth and it didn't fixed things.

Some minor league hockey fun:

It was a borning game until the last two minute when a line brawl broke out and ended with a pretty hefty goalie battle.

I thought this was a great play and it was special for not only him but the whole team. It's great to be on top :) (then we will probably lose all of our playoffs games as usual...)

Capitals at Carolina 2/20/12: Canes won 5-0.  I never saw a team mail it in as badly as the Caps did that night.

Especially with only one healthy goalie left standing.

All teams play today.  Last day of the 2011-12 season.  Every team plays another team in their conference except the New York Islanders and Columbus Blue Jackets.

Loser of that game should be relegated to the AHL.
