Is it just me, or is there something fascinating about the traffic circle along US 1 on the border between Port Chester, New York and Greenwich, Connecticut?

There is something fascinating that both ends of US 1 in CT are at traffic circles.

IIRC, the "circle" at the Connecticut/Rhode Island line on U.S. 1 is entirely in Rhode Island.

Yes, but 1 is already starting to widen into the divider island at the state line.

Plus, both borders cross with a small river (Byram with NY and Pawcatuck with RI).
