Picture Challenge: Name Signs

I'm getting closer to getting a highway page update done. One thing I'm doing as part of this update is adding pictures to my naming sections. This started out as an effort to put a name with the faces for the memorial signs, but then I also started putting up a picture of the memorial sign next to the face. I haven't uploaded what I've done yet, but I'm doing Route 65 next.

Here's where you come in, because I know you are up for a challenge. For many signs, I've been able to find a picture with the name. But for many, I can't. When I do the updates, you can see the people I haven't found pictures of yet, and see if you can find them online. But that's in a week or two.

For now, I want pictures of name signs. These would be the signs with the freeway name (i.e., (and I have this one), a sign that says "Pomona Freeway", not a sign showing the route with the destination of Pomona). I want to show that the name was actually signed. I also want the signs where a segment or structure has been named after a person. These could be a big green sign; it could also be a smaller sign on the postmiles. I'll take care of editing the image down to basically the sign (height of 160px), although if you do it for me ... However, I do want to know how to credit the image source (if you snarfed it from somewhere, give the URL), otherwise, I'll just credit the forum post.

If you want to get an idea, scroll down to the naming section for Route 1 in https://www.cahighways.org/001-008.html . As I've said, I'm about to start Route 65, and I won't be uploading the pages probably until May 1 or the weekend that follows (this coming weekend is incorporating the CTC minutes, and a final pass through this forum and the April headlines, which I haven't posted yet).

How's that for a challenge. Look through AAroads, search online, or go out in the field. Who knows? You might be preserved in the credit section on my highway pages.

PS: If you want me to go through the routes I've done to let you know what images I need, just holler. I can then periodically add pictures I need in groups as I keep doing the long march of updates.

PPS: Now I'm back from my walk, so I'll give you a bit of an idea:

Its probably worth a look in the later Gribblenation blog series.  The file series of the photos are close to what you're looking for already.  I know some routes like CA 99 between Wheeler Ridge and Sacramento I went out my way to get as many Name Signs as I could.  I think photo files can be directly saved from the blogs.

At least for the ones I've done, if you mentioned the name by the picture (or put the name in the Alt or Title tag), it should come up in the search.

I have a photo of the Nomiaki Highway sign on I-5 in Tehama County, which you can add to the item for that highway name.

I'll see if I can scrounge up others, but that's the only one I can recall at the moment.

Thanks. I just grabbed it. My hope is that this would be encouragement for folks as they went on solo drives, or as they were hiding at home going through their digital pictures. It seemed like a nice challenge for the board.
