Hey! I'm a travel blogger who is interested in the roads I travel. I almost exclusively drive on my trips. I've done trips like driving border-to-border, driving around Lake Superior, and many more trips. I'm originally from Central Wisconsin. Before March of this year, I lived in Austin, TX for almost 6 years. I now live in the Madison area. Before I moved back to Wisconsin, I did visit all 254 counties in Texas. I plan to visit all 72 in Wisconsin and a bucket list goal is to drive every state highway in its entirety.

I look forward to talking with all you guys and this forum looks interesting.

Greetings fellow Wisconsinite! There are several WI residents here. But first I will tell you that WISDOT gets criticized on here a ton, so just be prepared for that  :spin:

I can see why. In the 6 years I lived in Texas, the roads got worse and they're so bad now. There's no way to sugar coat that. I really hope they start fixing them. Before I moved back up to Wisconsin, I visited all 254 counties in Texas. I took all sorts of roads ranging from the interstates, the Texas state highways, and the secondary highway system aka the Farm to Market roads. There were only a few spots the roads were worse in Texas than Wisconsin and that was in oil country areas where there was a ton of truck traffic.

It is what is is, but I'll probably commiserate with the people who have concerns since I have my own concerns about beating up my vehicles as I drive around.

Wisconsin is one of the few states where I have zero road miles; I have only traveled there by rail (Amtrak to Milwaukee, and then the free Hop streetcar around town). Some point in the future I'll get some highway miles there...
