I drove from I-5 at CA133 in Irvine out to eastern Riverside recently, leaving at 2:45 on a Wednesday afternoon, taking the 133/241 tollways and the 91 express lanes. Really costly for the final couple of miles of the 91 express lanes, that in addition to the $6.75 for the 133/241.

The worse traffic I encountered was the 215/60 from CA 91 to the I-215 split, very slow.

Here's a video of the trip up to the 91/215/60 interchange:

Doesn't even look like they've started working on the direct connection between 241 and the 91 toll lanes as of yet.  That one has been a thorn in the side for all involved parties -- and an ongoing controversy -- for at least 15 years now; I thought it had been resolved a couple of years back -- but apparently if it has, the actual construction is on a decidedly leisurely schedule.  Something tells me Caltrans is grimacing when thinking of the traffic disruption on 91 in order to implement direct ramps in the canyon.
